I sent my receiver to a company that modified it for me ... Added a jtag, and tsop and eeprom lock... but not sure if they did a VID-MOD... Is there anyway I can tell if they did a VID-MOD...
Thanks

If you have an OJ1 jumper or switch, that's an indicator.
You could connect your jtag, open jkeys 5900 and try to erase the flash and add a public TSOP flash.

This is the problem I am having now .....
I used jkey 5900 since i found out it was most compatible with 510 dvr.
I opened it choose the correct ird model 510-5900 and hit detect and got my original box keys and ird # ... I choose flash programming and choose the correct ird model (510-5900) and choose Flash I... I then went ahead and chose FULL under chip/sector programming and read both Flash I and Flash II
After I did this I modified both files using flashedit-2.1beta9-bin to reflect the following changes...
IRD #: 011C746C
Boxkeys: 8CA6A88CFDE2E263
I edited both Flash 1 and Flash II bins and then saved them... I went back into jkeys and erased Flash I and Flash II three times then went ahead and programed both Flash I and II. When I erased both sectors i did go back to the main screen and hit detect when i choose 510 for the receiver and it did give me FFFFFF for both the IRD # and Box keys... So I know i erased both of them properly... know what problem I am running into is after i reprogrammed Flash I & II I went back to main screen in jkeys... choose 510-5900 for ird and it returned me the original box keys and ird # .. I dont know y this happened... For some reason when I choose 501-5100 for the ird model it gives me the new modified box keys above and IRD #... I also made sure when I went to Flash programming in jkeys, i had IRD MODEL 510-5900 selected...
what could possible be the problem... I changed my TSOP and EEPROM lock switch to unlock mode... so i know its can't be that.... b/c when i erased Flash I & II it gave me FFFFFF for box keys and IRD #...
Does anyone have a DVR 510 and have been successful using the ENIGMA CARD.....
I used the Default EEPROM_Dish.bn102 under Enigma 3.4 to program EEPROM programming under jkeys...
So are u telling me know that I have messed around with my TSOP I have to remarry the Hard Drive back to the receiver... Y would I have to do that if I never changed the Hard Drive... Any HELP would be appreciated....
When I programmed the enigma card I used the Default Load ROM and Load EEPROM files that came with Enigma 3.4 .... what do I do to solve this problem....
Thanks

I think I managed to find the problem .... The opened both Flash I and Flash II that I saved using Jkeys in Flashedit. First I choose Advanced tab then open, and then choose Beginner, I noticed that the MODEL ID was PVR 501. I made sure that when I saved Flash I and Flash II in jkeys I choose IRD Model 510-5900 so I am not sure y when I opened it in Flashedit, it came up as PVR 501.. I even checked the sticker on the back of the receiver and it said PVR 510.011. I think in order to fix the problem I was having earlier I need it to say PVR 510 when I open it using Flashedit in Beginner mode. The only way I can see of changing this is to go to Advanced tab and Changing the model ID.. I dont know what the model ID for 510 is ... Can anyone help me out here... What would be the model ID for PVR 510..
Thanks for all your help

The model ID 10S is from a 510.
If your TSOP shows up as a 501, most likely it came from a 501.
There's no way for you to change it to a 510 TSOP.
What is the build config? Is it a virgin TSOP?
If it's P079, it MAY work. If it's P080, it WILL work.

Where do I find the build Config??? I opened the TSOP in Flashedit 2.1 beta 9
Under the advance tab the build config DFHA... is this it... Where do I find the build config... Also this was a Virgin TSOP.. I sent it to a company to get modified w/ a Jtag, TSOP and EEPROM Lock installed. So not sure what they could have done with it...
Thanks for the help

Your build config can be found there, and your 102 image..
If they both match to your receiver..
The only way to really make sure is to look at that little white sticker
inside your receiver on top of the board..

Use any DFxx virgin you can find..
If you are luck.. You can probably find a virgin DFxx virgin with public
numbers already.. It will have the SKs already removed.. Just flash
and done..

I sent him a modded DFEA(D) file set as requested in another thread.
I will detect as 501/508/5100 moved bootstrap after flashing. But works fine, PVR will still be a 510. Files I sent are virgin and will marry hard drive.
I have experimented will both "moved bootstrap" and plain 501 flash settings, either one will work fine in a 510 PVR, the moved bootstrap type is easier to set up. You can take any 510 flash and set it as moved bootstrap very easily with winhex.

Jkeys detects a receiver type by the location of numbers in the flash. So editing a 510 flash can make it show as a 501/508/5100 type flash.
Jkeys, unless you have a specially modded version, does not have a 510 setting.
A 510 is normally a 508 "moved ird info" type flash. Editing the flash for public no-rsa makes it into a 501/508/5100 "moved bootstrap" type flash.
The flash can also be edited to show up as a plain 501 type flash, and will function perfectly. I use moved bootstrap as it is easier to mod the flash, and works perfectly also.
If you can find a 501 PVR with the same, or compatible, build as a 510, you can write the 501 flash to the 510 and it will work.
The PVR type that shows in the system screen is determined by the hard drive size. Put a 40 gig in a 510 and you will get 501 in system info. Put a 120 gig into a 501 it will show a s a 510.
