I currently have a 510 .. and I was told to 1st remove SK's for the enigma to work... Then I was told that the receiver data be moved so the receiver appears to be a 508 with "moved bootstrap" type flash. Using this method, a 510 will definately work with enigma.
How do I make a 510 appear to be a 508

the only thing that makes it a 508 or 510 is the hd size the bios will automaticaly identift as a 508 if u reduce hd size
i dont see why u would need to do this to use a card though?? i was under the understanding the enemiga suported sk boxes?

do u have a 510 DVR and have u successfully used the enigma card with the receiver ... I have been having problems ....
This is the problem I ran into while programming my DVR 510
This was the approach i was taking....
I used jkey 5900 since i found out it was most compatible with 510 dvr.
I opened it choose the correct ird model 510-5900 and hit detect and got my original box keys and ird # ... I choose flash programming and choose the correct ird model (510-5900) and choose Flash I... I then went ahead and chose FULL under chip/sector programming and read both Flash I and Flash II
After I did this I modified both files using flashedit-2.1beta9-bin to reflect the following changes...
IRD #: 011C746C
Boxkeys: 8CA6A88CFDE2E263
I edited both Flash 1 and Flash II bins and then saved them... I went back into jkeys and erased Flash I and Flash II three times then went ahead and programed both Flash I and II. When I erased both sectors i did go back to the main screen and hit detect when i choose 510 for the receiver and it did give me FFFFFF for both the IRD # and Box keys... So I know i erased both of them properly... know what problem I am running into is after i reprogrammed Flash I & II I went back to main screen in jkeys... choose 510-5900 for ird and it returned me the original box keys and ird # .. I dont know y this happened... For some reason when I choose 501-5100 for the ird model it gives me the new modified box keys above and IRD #... I also made sure when I went to Flash programming in jkeys, i had IRD MODEL 510-5900 selected...
what could possible be the problem... I changed my TSOP and EEPROM lock switch to unlock mode... so i know its can't be that.... b/c when i erased Flash I & II it gave me FFFFFF for box keys and IRD #...
Does anyone have a DVR 510 and have been successful using the ENIGMA CARD.....
I used the Default EEPROM_Dish.bn102 under Enigma 3.4 to program EEPROM programming under jkeys...
So are u telling me know that I have messed around with my TSOP I have to remarry the Hard Drive back to the receiver... Y would I have to do that if I never changed the Hard Drive... Any HELP would be appreciated....
When I programmed the enigma card I used the Default Load ROM and Load EEPROM files that came with Enigma 3.4 .... what do I do to solve this problem....
Thanks
Cpt
Any suggestions ?????

Yes, you have to remarry HDD. That is because the HDD is married to a receiver number and since you changed the receiver number, you need to remarry the HDD. You need to find virgin firmware that matches your receivers build, best if P079 or smaller so you have no SKs and wont have to remove them, modify the virgin firmware in flashedit MOVED BOOTSTRAP, and write the modded virgin firmware to the receiver. BTW, erase both, but only need to write U7. Turn the receiver on and you should get no HDD errors meaning the HDD is now married to your new numbers, although HDD will not be functional. Shut off the receiver and let it update to new firmware. Good luck.

In a hex editor, FF out lines 003FFF40 through 003FFF90.
Make line 003FFFC0 01 1C 74 6C 8C A6 A8 8C FD E2 E2 63 91 FB FF FF
That removes SKs and sets receiver number and box keys to enigma (public) numbers.
Flash will then be a "moved bootstrap" type flash............. works......
PVR will still be a 510. Just flash type will be different.
