I received my enigma card over the weekend. I ran the file to load the USB drivers like the instructions stated. I loaded the rom and waited until it was finished. I then attempted to load the newest eeprom that comes with EnigmaEdit 3.1.5 and it locked up. I waited an hour and rebooted the pc. I am now getting;
USB Device Not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it.
When I press ‘Test Card’ it shows testing in progress for ~ 30 sec.
It then shows USB-> Bad CPU->? ROM->? EEPROM ->?
I tried older versions of EnigmaEdit. I aso bought another new usb cable and tried it on 2 other PC’s.
I looked at the card under a magnifier and didn’t see any broken or loose connections
Is there a way to ‘reset’ /'virginize' the Enigma Card. If not, does anyone know how can I return this and get a functional one?
Thanks for your help

Good for you emissary55. Mili is good about taking care of folks. Send him an e-mail and describe as above. Be patient as he has been out of town lately and may take a while to reply.

Thanks for your help I can tell you several things about the Enigma. In my experience, not just any cable will work. Many have suggested getting the cable used on Motorola Razor cell phones. I bought a top of the line $20+ 5-wire cable at an electronics store. I had four cables that all failed in varying degrees to work properly. They were from cameras and MP3 players, etc. With the expensive cable, it works 90% of the time. If it fails, I simply pull out the USB connector and re-insert it.
I mess with the Enigma only after I have opened Device Manager. I click on Universal Serial Bus controllers. When the Enigma is plugged in successfully, I see USB Serial Converter listed. This is vitally important. With a cheap cable, you might see this come and go! Then in the E software, run the test. I have yet to see the USB Serial Converter listed in the Device Manager and get anything but USB->OK with the TEST CARD function.
I still use 3.4 because I believe 3.5 was rushed out to shut up all the complainers. 3.5 is buggy and has NO ADVANTAGES over 3.4.
And for all you 019'ers: I shim the Enigma card with a standard business card on top of it when inserting it into the IRD. You may get a brief 019, but it self corrects on my receivers every time. Without the shim, 019 all the time.

Even with new 5 pin USB 2.0 mini usb cables, I was getting an error. Installing Enigma_Driver_Installation.exe from EnigmaEdit3.5 or 3.6 didn't help. What did work was copying the two files, Enigma.inf and Enigma.sys from EnigmaEdit3.2 .
I copied them to two locations. C:\Windows\Drivers\ and to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ . I then rebooted and plugged in the card. It saw it immediately and since. Try it, it works! Thanks to everybody who responded, especially Mili & Bishop thier support.
