Bad Card??

Got the Enigma today. When i run the "TEST CARD" diagnostics test I get :
USB > OK CPU > BAD....... ROM >? EEPROM > ?.
Testing Complete: Bad Card detected. CPU failure.

Guess I got a dead card??
ANy other possibility?

Retry test card again. If still bad then reload ROM and EPROM and try again

restart your cpu,unzip file again ,load drivers again, load bin then epprom then put new keys in and program make sure u only,load drivers correct

I tried all of the above PLUS tried it on another computer.
Also after loading ROM and EPROM when u program card after a while it says "Card Update Failed"

I guess I have a DOA..

Try to load the 3.4 in windows safe mode. start the program with the card pluged in and run test card, after that unplug the card then replug the card and load the rom unplug the card and replug the card and run program eprom. That works for me.

people like u are well u know?,he is looking for a little help not stupid remarks,and no one is sure about how far the support will go,with the stream changing i rom 102/103 going down with blockers anyways,maybe it is a bad one so send it back i'm sure milli will work with u hes never done me wrong

I will get another USB cable today.
Tried most everything suggested and other things in other posts.

Yup got it here, I know Milli stands behind his products, had a bad Magic card and he sent me a new one.

Will try a few more things and see.

for what its worth I have read that with the usb cable the ones for use with motorola razer work as the exact same type for a camera didnt work. Also that the cable cant be longer than three feet or go thru a hub. wish you luck BTW I have only read this and dont have experience myself with the cards

It's interesting that there is such a wide success/failure margin on the usb issue. The card says USB 2.0. That could be part of it. There were big differences between earlier versions of USB, and the 2.x products in the area of power. Many devices that require USB2 will work on older ports if you provide external power. I have a USB hard drive that does not need external power on USB2 ports, but does when on older ports. Maybe there is some correlation to these card programming failures and the power supplied to the card via usb.

Note, on my hard drive, it will work on an older USB port without external power if I use a USB Powered hub. It's possible that someone that is having this problem might put an externally powered USB hub in between the card and the computer and see what happens.

Just some random thoughts. :)

It turns out not every USB cable is the same!!!
I experienced this first hand today and told Bishop. He confiormed it with Scherbius and there are 4 pin and 5 pin USB fucking calbes in existance.
For thr Enigmas you need 5 pin ones.

For the Enigmas you need 5 pin ones. I would go a step beyond that. I have plenty of 5-pin USB cables that will not work at all with the Enigma. I have one that works great. It is not as simple as some make it out to be, IMHO.

Ok here's the scoop....

I got TWO new USB cables (they both have 4 pins in big end and 5 in small end)
First USB cable same as my Camera cable --- Bad>CPU
Second USB cable... Test PASSED !!!!
But.... after loading ROM sucessfully and EPPROM successfully card would not program.
*** CARD FAILED to update***
Tried several times same thing.
So.... I re-tested the card and NOW got BAD>CPU AGAIN.....ugh
I will try to get a 3' USB cable later (all three of the ones I have are 6')
I will update after trying the 3' cable...
Seems strange that the USB passes but CPU fails...

Bought BEST GOLD 5 pin ratshack (+$20) USB cable .

same thing,
I guess a bad card???
