301to FTA, WONT TURN ON

Am New To Fta, But I Succesfully Modified Two 301's To Fta, And Whatched Tv For A Couple Of Days, But I Just Selected The Echostar Line-up, And Wanted To Watch Tv, There Was A Message Saying "tp Upgrading" And After That The Receiver Stopped Working, And Unpluged It And Pluged It Back In, And Only The Led Ligth Stays For A Few Seconds Then Nothing Happens, I Try To Turn It On With The Control And Nothig Happens, What Can I Do?? Reflash???? Thanks For Your Help In Advanced

yes reflash and make sure auto tp is off before u attach the antenna also turn off autoroll for dish bev and glob as it dont work and can lock up receiver aswell ps makes sure u keep the keycode option turned on in autoroll options or it wont take keysa u enter

I keep my auto tp on..with no probs..some channels update tp to view...guess it has to do with the lnb

i reflashed it last nigth, and i selected tp update "off" and put the new keys in, watch tv for a couple of hours, then turned it off, and this morning, i turned it on, and there was everything, but no signal, i redo satellite sacan, and only found 10 channels on echo 7, but i notice on the "antena set up" i have no signal on the selected satellites, i have legacy lnb's and i have a 102 rom receiver working with such lnb's, the thing is that i unplug the receiver and plug it back on, and again only lthe led ligth stays for afew seconds and then nothing. am not able to turn it on, any suggestions? tha

you haven't mentioned yet which bin you are entering when you flash.

There are several new bins, latest is about three days old, and may do you some good.

Check out dssevolution, they have a very long string going there that may help you a lot. It was about 120 pages or longer last night, but I haven't looked yet this morning. DO NOT short cut yourself when you find that thread, there is important info all through that thread.

If you are using an older bin, next time you unplug your IRD, when you replug it in, start with a default reset, factory specs, then start all over from scratch, and just don't unplug it again until you are ready to reflash with one of the newer bins.

It also sounds from the symptoms you are mentioning, you need to errase twice when you are flashing, and if you short cut this, you'll be trying to write in a space that isn't fully errased.

Sorry, that's all I can sugest at this point till you post more of your problem.

Just a thought - you might have a problem with you're switches .If you are FTA you might need a DISCQ switch instead of SW21. Just a thought .

Zim, what is the filename of the flash that you are using and where can it be downloaded?

Also, will this file work with a Dish Pro Dual LNB if you use Dish Pro settings in Antenna Setup?

it only werks with legacy (500 twin)........ sw21 (just realized) is buggy....
it is at the file shop....in 301-fta section called..."new bins for 301 fta" by digger

The Bare bones 301-fta full bin file in the file shop runs smoother than the sw21 and 500 twin bins.
Untill there is a autoroll hack you might give it a try.
Just set jkeys to 301 single chip and erase and then flash. It shuld load from 7FC00000 (It is a full 4meg flash)

I need some help, but first I would like to thank jb1000, blaron and wileys_farm for all of ya'lls hard work on these 301 to Pansat files over at DSSEvolution!!

Personally, I'm currently running (2) 510 DVR's with ROM102's with RomProtect and a Pansat 2700A. However, I am trying to set up a couple of 301.013's to Pansat for a couple of friends that are tired of driving over for me to change the keys on their ROM102's everyday.

I have read most of the posts in the 301 to FTA thread over at DSSEvolution, but I'm still having some problems. Now for my questions.

I vid modded (2) two 301.013's and wrote jb1000's modded file,
JB1000-Mod-283a-No-Roll-Full.bin to both IRD's. I also wrote wileys_farm eeprom file, R0018642028-301-17BB-DANA-10E-P343-EEPROM.bin to both IRD's.

On the first IRD, I set "D*sh Autoroll" to OFF, and "AutoTP Update" to OFF. I input the new D*sh keys with my remote under Provider 0101, with 86 key under 00, and 96 key under 01. I then connected to my D*sh 500 with (2) seperate LNBF's and SW21 switch. I noticed in the Antenna setup that 119 was set to "D*shPro" and 110 was set to "Standard", so I changed 119 to "Standard" to match the setting for 110. I went to the guide and got video on most channels but not all. On some channels I got the message "Bad or Scrambled Channel" and no video. After not getting video on a few channels, I turned the "AutoTP Update" to ON and waited and the channel that I previously would get "Bad or Scrambled Channel" on would then get video after the TP Update was complete. Then a lot of the other channels that I was getting video on before I turned "AutoTP Update" back ON, would not get video or I would get the error "NO Signal".

Since I have a Panat 2700A and know how to set it up, I decided to connect the second IRD to the Dish and try it. I set the "Dish Autoroll" to OFF, and "AutoTP Update" to OFF. I then did a Satellite Scan on both 110 and 119 to see if that would make a difference. After doing the Scan on both birds, I could get most of the channels, but some would say "NO Signal" or "Bad or Scrambled Channel", same as on the other IRD.

So I switched out the SW21 to make sure that I didn't have a bad one, and checked out both LNB's to make sure both were good. After making sure both LNB's worked on my Pansat 2700A and the SW21, I reconnected the DP301 to Pansat #2 box that I didn the "Satellite Scan" on, and had the same results. Some channels would have video, then when I would switch channels for example to 5731 WXIA or 171 NICK I would get "Bad or Scrambled Channel" or change to another Channel such as 346 ELOVE and get "NO Signal". But when I change to some channels, i.e. 311 MAX and get video. . But the wierd thing is, when I would go back to 346 ELOVE, I had video, and then go back to 311 MAX and get "NO Signal".

I know it probably has to do with the SW21 switch versus the file that I'm using, or something real simple.


I have been working on these two IRD's all day and I'm hoping someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.

I have not had a good experience with sw21's but this new file that jb1000 mentioned I have not checked if somethin new for sw21.....

Switching is slow. Play around wiith the settings. I get fair results with a sw21 by setting the lnb for 119 to DishPro and diseqc to 4 and 110 to Standard with diseqc switch set to 3. This hopefully will get better the more we learn about these files :cool:

I have switched the 2 Legacy LNB's and SW21 out with a Legacy Twin and I'm rescanning the Sat's. Afterwards I'll report back my results and then I'll switch back to the SW21 and put settings in like jb1000 suggested and rescan and see what happens.

I know that these files are buggy and they need work. However, I have heard that you can buy the new file for $ 15.00 and it autorolls and works fine....I just don't speak Spanish so I can't read what's on HUMexico's site. If I could, I would buy the new file and test it out!

with the files I mentioned no need for scanning just input keys....by the way sw21 werks great I just happened to have a non dishnet sw21 (clone) but using original werked great.....
