Does anyone know (or does anyone care to speculate) how the first guy to develop the nozkt mod for receivers with a JTAG TAP determined the pinouts? i.e. which pad is TDO, TDI, TMS, etc

Can this be done with an oscope, or only by following the traces from chip to TAP?

I believe the 420 was the first IRD to have nozkt developed for, and the TDO etc. is labeled on the board....

Can the pinout be determined on an unmarked board with no marked similar designs?
Or is this why there has been no mod developed for the Sonys?

the Sony's have been jtagged and even the memory has been dumped, but so far they do not have a nozkt flash available for them.....
