If it's blinking it ain't dead...try the junkyard fix if you can...looks like you have nothing to lose.

screwed up on the lock install , i cut trace on top and soldered on the left side not on the right side that i had to ,problem is that i cut in a bad spot and can not solder on that side anymore im thinking that if i run a jumper and cut on the bottom side instead but i need to know where (we out )runs to ??? it disappers under the tsop chip can someone help me trace (we out )thanks

Here's a little 'trick of the trade' for reconnecting cut traces...

Go to an automotive store and purchase the product for repairing rear window de-foggers. It's a small bottle that you paint to re-connect lines. This is a highly conductive (for electricity) product that works ohhhhhh so well!

I am installing a LOCK. I am looking at a soldering cable to ird mainboard PDF file I downlaoded from the files section.

Its ONLY for DP301.005 301.010 and 3100

Mine is a 301.010 and has the exact same image shown in the PDF.

3.3 Volt - easy solder
dq4 - easy solder
dq1 - easy solder
gnd - easy solder

WE#1 - moderate solder
DQ7 - moderate solder

WE#0 ????

Do i solder on Left side of cut (closest to chip) or right side of cut (closest to hole) ?

if I solder on left side do you have any tips on staying away form the other trace line right below the one I am soldering a wire to?

Thanks.

cut the trace underneath and solder on top i would not recomend the trace cut ontop just read inst carefully and make the cut underneath or try the softlock and skip the bullshit of soldering in a lock .....

My instructions say nothing about cuting underneath. Can you hook me up by chance with some pictures of that or instructions that show this step?

Also perhaps a softlock link for what I am using.

It's all in the echostar files under Digilock 4 install.

For digilock4...

That image you have shown me is much easier to solder. The WE1 connection was moved from the instructions I have making it much easier to install.

Here is my original instructions attached.

Also will I still have issues with a digilock 4? Is a software lock a better solution?

In my opinion, a hardware lock is safer. Charlie (& BEV) has not beaten the digi4...yet.

Just to add a little to this conversation...you may still cut the Trace underneath and solder WE#0 to the point below FD17...Instead of cutting trace above and soldering to Trace line...I know newbies find this quite difficult to do.....Just My $0.02
