Well everything that seemed liked it was going to be challenge for this noob went pretty well. Used the supplied ird hex, and the supplied box key with 3.6. Flashing and jtagging produced no errors.
So with my 3800, upgraded to 3900, firmware DNASP102 REV10B, a I'm getting an 019 Smart Card not inserted correctly error. Tried using business cards, but no change.
Went to the 3900 after the 2800 could not find the switch (dish pro to adapter to ird).
When switching to the 3900 I changed the model number in 3.6, but left the ROM and EEPROM alone sinced it seemed like it would be the same anyway, then updated the card.
Your thoughts appreciated.
