ok so I got it loaded..i needed to turn the box off and when I turn it on hit start in the loader..

Next problem..I scanned the channels..I don't see any of the 5000 channels like paramont..and never mind that the actual channels don't work..I can't find the place to enter in the keys..does anyone know how to load in them in? I am on channel 121 right now and it is telling me to wait downloading but it has been like 5 minutes

Just some info I just found out. If you plan on using your unit on DN it will NOT give you true HD. Neither Coolsat or Captiveworks can decode DN HD. For the next couple of months it will work on BEV but they will be changing their system soon.
Let me know how your unit works. Maybe all this material I have read is wrong (I doubr it) but if you can get true HD on DN lots of people will be surprised.
Good Luck

i have herad from good friends FTA DEALERS THAT coolsat 8000 is only good for BEV and will never do DN MPEG4 but they could be wrong. but they informed me that the new VIEWSAT HD will decode MPEG4 for BEV and DN coming soon.

Bev is working great, all the HD channels come in and look amazing...bummer about the fix that they may be coming out with. I find the box is slow to roll..my ariza handles the roll in like a minute this one can take up to 5 minutes sometimes. The menu is good though and unlike my ariza box that gets turned on and off a few times if I watch channel 499..this one doesn't. It will be an expensive SD FTA if it doesn't work in a few months. It says that it supports MPEG4..why doesn't it work on DN? I really wanted to see BattleStar Galitica in HD!

Have you tried it on DN? Never know what a box will do until you try it. If you did try it on DN what did you get on a HD channel?

You can talk to two people and get 5 opiniond on this stuff. The same goes fot the sites selling the receivers. The receiver site says the unit can do both mpeg 2 and 4 atsc. If that is in fact true then it should work on 110 and 119. If anyone had tried using this 8000 on 110 or 119 it would be nice to hear about your experience and if it in fact works or not.

coolsat 8000 will not work with dish hd ,they use not only mpeg4 but 8PSK compression which u need a pc or a linux based reciever such as the captiveworks 3000 but you'll still need a $300 genpix adapter for it

Where would get thit adaptor? And where does it go? If I get the HD receiver from DN they put the screws to you by leasing you the unit and force you to a 1 or 2 year contract. If you don't like it you pay a big penalty to opt out. So in the end it mighr not be a bad deal to get the 3000 and adaptor.
