just got my machine yesterday and i have done a lot of reading and i am pretty sure i am doing everything right but my machine will not load, i have the 1.04 loader, the 1.05 loader and the 1.06 loader and the 1.36 s/w and the 1.37 software and nothing will go into the machine!!?? the machine has preloaded under accessories/about stb/model id-captive works,h/w ver-v1.00,s/w ver-v1.08,loader ver-v3.01. i tried to put in the new s/w in both standby mode and in boot mode but it just stalls at 0% and does nothing for hours. can you please help out a newbie before he gets frustrated and goes back to plastic! thanks for any help you can give.

Check your computer cable, making sure it is a null modem cable.

Okay, then reload the loader v1.06 and the bin cw600v1.36 and start over again.
This bin 1.36 is for the premium boxes

i have downloaded at least three different versions of v1.04 and v1.05 and v1.06 into my computer from three different sites incuding captiveworks.com, i also have three versions of v1.36 and v1.37 and v1.08 and v1.09 software i also have three of the 3.01 loader i have tried everything and nothing will go in. also when i turn it on from the back i push the power button on the front and it takes about 15 seconds as it goes to 0000 then 8 scrolls across then it goes to a channell and then i have to push the button to get--:--, is this right? i also have used three different cables and even a usb to r232 cable with the v1.06 usb loader and i get nothing in.

Connect the receiver to computer, making sure the receiver is off. Now open loader v1.06. Drop the v1.36 in it. Push the power button in front with one hand, and turn the receiver on the back with the other hand. It should say bo-ot in front. release power button, and run loader 1.06.

Also, make sure you have unzipped the file. Or does it load up in the loader already with no problems?

got it fixed, watching tv now. i took it back to the dealer and he hooked it in to his computer with his personal cable and then he opened the 1.05 loader and put in the 1.36 bin and then turned on the switch at the back of the receiver and THEN hit start on the loader and AFTER THAT THEN HE pushed the front power on the receiver to put in standby and it never did the --:-- at all it just started scrolling numbers until it said "end" he then gave me a new cable and sent me on my way, it took less then 2 minutes in total and i have spent hours! anyways thanks for all the help from all you other members. talk to you on the next problem(that is if i cant figure it out by reading, reading, and maybe a little more reading......... thanks all!!!!!!!!
