Just so we are on the same page, the ISO could have been created from a dual layer - 10 gig disk or a blue laser disk which will hold 2 to 4 times that much as they can be recorded in up to 2400 DPI. So use Magic ISO or something else and look inside the file and see what the contents are.

You'll have to pull the file contents out of the ISO and use a movie editor to edit to size or convert to another file format compatable with PS2. U might even be able to mount the ISO as a virtual drive and watch it on your PC.

Try this site for a little background on mounting the ISO

The file was compressed thru Winrar, thats why the difference in size. Look at it like an adventure. It's no different then the stuff here. Read and learn my friend, read and learn. You might be able to condense from blue laser to dual but I doubt it. Your sure not gonna condense to a single without editing. Don't know of any other options, but I'll give it some thought though.

I thought dvd decrypter shrinks the size. If it doesn't work try dvdshrink

Well I'm not possitive it will shrink it. I use dvd decrypter for all of my ps2 games and never had a problem. If it doesn't try dvdshrink, and if that doesn't work get a better dvd to burn.

If the file inside the ISO is in AVI format, then when he creates a DVD it will far surpass the size of a single layer disc. Most DVD rippers default to AVI unless ripping surround sound. Then it goes to MPeg4. I am not familiar with the format used in PVR's so if it was ripped from one of those, someone else needs to have a little input.

use this good for compression http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm

JESUS CHRISY!!!!

This game is not a DL game.
Download the ISO in WINRAR form.
Use WINRAR to extract the ISO.
Use DVDecrypt or Imgburn to write teh image to your DVD-5 disk. (Burn at 2x)
This is not rocket science,,,, 4.11 g will fit on a 4.7g disk.. I know that 11 is larger than 7, but it isn;t larger than 70... 4.11 < 4.70.

If you are worried about the download being any good, then just go to your local game rental store and rent the game.
Use DVDecrypt to read and write the game to your own dvd media.
There is no protection on PS2 games.
The problem is that the booting data is written to the hub of the disk and no dvd burners/readers have a laser that go that far into a disk, so you can;t copy the booting instructions to the disk.
This is why you have to have a modchip.. it has the booting instructions embbeded and boots the PS2 for you, thus allowing you to play from your copied disk.

I'm not sure what rippers you are using, but if they are defaulting as you say, then you need to look for better software.
With so many different formats and options out there, your software should not be defaulting to AVI.
To be honest, I've never seen anything default to AVI.
I have at least 7 different programs I use and this has never been an issue.
LAstly, if he downloaded a game and it came in AVI format, then he didn;t get a legitimate rip of a PS2 game.

You can't simply shrink a PS2 game.. the game has to be disassembled, shrunk if needed, then rebuild. This is not a novice project and from reading his above posts, he is not ready to try to take on such an undertaking. It would do nothing but discourage him form the hobby.

Maybe he will understand this:

4.11 = 4,110,000

4.7 = 4,700,000
