Failed To Enter Program Mode Sounds Like A Communications Problem With Your Programmer Not Your Atmega Card Itself. Go To Preferences And Check Your Lpt Setting It Should Be 0x378. Maybe Your Card Is In Upside Down Or Maybe If You Have A Jumper For Prog And Playing Maybe The Jumper Is In The Wrong Setting. Have You Tried To Go Into The Bios To Check Your Lpt Setting, Or Rebooted Your Pc?? Just Suggestions Here I Have Had These Problems Before And It Was The Programmer I Was Using A Serial Cable Instead Of A Parallel. A Different Time It Was The Programmer That Was Buggered And I Tried A Different Programmer And Voila It Worked

Good Luck

are you connecting the programmer via an LPT extenstion cable? Try connecting it directly to the pc LPT port and try. I am not familiar with the LockBits I am not sure if i even messed with them when i programmed mine..

I know it is the card...I programed a funky file to it while trying to get locals...and other atmegas are fine...just this one won't communicate
