I think this is a fairly simple question but i have been racking my mind trying to figure it all out. I want to keep my subscribed BEV 9220(HD Dual Tuner) hooked up to my tv and I want to also hook a Viewsat Xtreme up to the same tv off of the same dish. What is the simplest way to do this???

Make shure you have a dual LNB and run a line right from the dish to the Viewsat then this way you both can be on a different channel and wont make the sub act up.

He did not provice enough info to make a good suggestion.
Would help to know what type LNB is on the dish as well as any switches used, (if any).

Thanks for the quick replies. I dont know what LNB I have. It was a professional installation from Bell. They installed the dish, the switch, ran the cables. It is the equipment that comes with the Bell 9200. I want to keep the existing Bell system left in place, so I can still watch 1 show and record another. I also want to install the Viewsat Xtreme using the existing system(dish, etc..). I am thinking i can have a switch that would have the 2 lines coming in from the dish and 3 going out(if there is such a thing). 2 to the Bell dual tuner and 1 to the Viewsat. Or do i need a seperate LNB for the Viewsat. If it is too difficult i am thinking I will just undo one line off of the exisiting bell dish and put it in the Viewsat whenever I want to use the Viewsat.

Yep you can doo that this is the switch you will need in order to do that. Just make shure you have a dual LNB at the dish that means you have 2 outputs on the eye were you can add the othere line. Then you will be abble to add 4 receivers to the same dish on all diferent channels at the same time.
3 In 4 MultiSwitch

This switch allows 2 LNB inputs and one Antenna or cable input out to 4 separate receivers.
I dont know if mili has them but you can check.

On your sub receiver there should be a IF OUT or LOOP OUT or LNB OUT because you would be abble to run a line from the sub receiver to the FTA unit. Sence you got it all on one TV Cheq on you sub receiver I'am shure you have some sort of LNB OUT then go from there to LNB IN on you FTA.
Witch ever one you whant on turn the power of on the other receiver.
I have a friend that has it set up like this. So it would be the best way if you whanted it all on one TV.
The post on the top would be if you whanted to put the other receiver on a other TV in the house.

It is entirely possible that he has a DP+ lnb, with only one cable comming to the receiver. That's why I asked for more info.
In that case all he would need is another cable running back to the dish for the FTA, assuming a DP+ lnb will run a FTA unit.
A dual receiver only uses 1 output of the DP+ lnb.
Crow492;
You mention a "3 in 4 multiswitch" with picture.
I hope I am not wrong here, but I always thought that switch
was a tone activated switch, hertz Hz, for Direct TV.
Echostar uses a volt activated switch, 13vdc=odd 18vdc=even.
If anyone can confirm this 3 in 4 multiswitch will work with
E*, hey great.

Yes it works I dont have the one from DTV or Dish. But this one I got at a FTA site and there all over the place. I set peaple up like that that have 4 clones on one dish. You do need a dual LNB.
skinerd he said he whants it all on one TV. I would just go to the LNB out on the Sub to LNB IN on the FTA. But yes more info needed.

Hey guys; thanks for the help. Now i have a different question. I have a single line coming into the house from a dish. I have 2 single input receivers(a Bell 5200 PVR) and a Viewsat Xtreme. I want to have both of them hooked up so that I can just turn the power off on the one and have the other work. This is what I am thinking. I would run the cable in from the dish to a switch. I would then run an out line to the Viewsat Sat In plug and an out line to the Bell Sat In plug. Now both receiver are receiving a signal. Now this is where i am confused. I only have a TV out and an Antenna/CATV in plugs left on my Bell. On the Viewsat I will have a loop out, Antenna In, and a TV out plugs left. How do I get them to both send a signal to the TV when one is off. Do I put another switch that would go from the TV out on the Bell and the TV out on the Viewsat to the TV? If this is really confusing I attached a crude drawing. Some help would be awesome. Thanks

Loop the TV outs, TV out of one to cable/ant in on the other.
Rec 1/TV out.........Rec2/cable/ant in.........Rec2 out to TV.
When rec2 is on the TV gets rec2 video, when rec2 is off it passes the TV from rec1.
..................................OR.............. ...................................
Use a splitter, set Rec1 to either output ch 3 or ch 4 and rec2 to output the other channel.
rec1 TV out...............................one side splitter out
------------------TV to splitter in
rec2 TV out .............................other side splitter out
Then change TV to ch 3 or 4 depending on which rec you want to watch.

Also tone activated switch is volt, im using a DTV 4x4 switch for 91, 110, 119, and 129 birds
1-18v=110
1-13v=119
1-22khz 18v=129
1-22khz 13 v=91
with 4 outputs to 4 different coolsats, originally had only 1 cs till i tried this switch and found it works great, however when it warms up im switiching 110 to the 13 v side and 119 to 18v side due to polarity, just a bit more insight for ya good luck bro
