I recently bought a motor for my dish setup. I'm interested in using it for bev, dish and direct. I can't seem to get it to lock onto any birds though. I live in the Kingston Ontario area so I set it to true south (magnetic -13) put my latitude @44* for elevation on the motor and set the dish elevation to 30. The best strength I've managed to get is no better than 20%, before I installed the motor I got 90% with nimq1/2. I’m using DVBdream/mytheatre through a twinhan 1020 on a bell dish and single lnb setup.
This is the motor I’m trying to use.

Could be a number of things: When the motor is at " 0 " put a stright edge up and down the face of the dish and using an angle finder, see if you have a total of 74 deg. Might be a good time to invest 20.00$ in a cheap signal meter that usually works better than a cell phone outside and some one inside on the land line watching your PC. DVB cards do not not work on direct t/v. Could be your dish is stoping at one of the liner brids and if that is the case to get a picture, you would hsve to change circular LNB to liner and in that case 20% will get you a good picture. If your using a switch put it between the motor and the LNB. You can go to google earth and get your exact longitude and work from that using the manual button and rotation deg. stamped on the motor. Lets us know how you make out, may be some other things to try.

I see you live at 76.30 deg west so in that case when you send it to the 82 brid the reading on your motor rotation gauge should be at 6 deg. west.

I have a meter; I can turn it three times max before I get no signal (bad measurement I know :))

Once the motor gets to the 82, try by passing the motor and see if that helps
