Hacking dish network with a computer hooked up all the time??

Hey everyone,

I'm new at this but it seems like the way everyone gets free satellite is by using a hacked box with a reprogramable rom card. My sister in law has it free at their place and is getting it for me as well. But the way they do it is by running some program on a PC and leaving the PC connected ALL the time to the dish receiver. They said if you want more than one tv then you need more computers. This just seems weird or kind of outdated... does anyone know what method this is and if it works or what?

referred to as emulation and has been around for a very long time. This method may be dated, but not outdated. Depending upon what emu program you run, you don't even need a dishnet card. Right now, this is by far the most stable testing platform, hands down. Since october, st19xl has only needed 2 updates!!! 6 months and only 2 necessary updates, with absolutly NO freezing....thats prety damn stable if ya ask me.

PGM is and always will be the king of emu:)

You can run 2 or more ird's off of 1 pc, no problem, your relatives probably don't know how to do it. Can run multiple instances of cemu in windows, or by utilizing auxshare and virtual dos com ports, multiple instances of st19.

emu has been around for ever, i play with it but am a rom 102 guy. i use plastic with a private blocker a coder friend of mine wrote. I have not needed any updates since oct 30 that is last time i programmed my card. but most public blockers need more updating than that, 6 months is a good run for anything.

they are doing a card swap out now....since your new to this you really dont want to waste your time buying the hardware and overpriced rom cards to do this

get yourself a fta ,one with the best support......Viewsats are most popular...$150 or so...youll be watching tv within an hour of opening the box

most people now get their free tv with fta units,dont be misled by anyone that just wants you to spend,spend,spend

fta units can be ordered with credit cards cause they are legal,anything else and use a money order or risk getting busted later on down the road

the easiest most hassle free way to watch free tv....and thats what 95% only want,is to buy a fta...period!

Actually, I've never seen any of the mods here hawking Enigmas, they say they don't have em and they don't know. And anyway the verdict on the Engima as far as I can tell is not out yet.

Seems to me the plastic guys recommend plastic (and emu or DVB ) cuz that's what they know and what they like! They've been doing it for a while and it's more of a challenge, more fun for them and in the long run probably more stable, time will tell....

As for Mili selling stuff...duh......he makes no bones about the basic purpose of this site, to support his customers. In the meantime he lets those of us who also use Atmega or Fta or rabbit ears ramble on and pretty much say what we like...

hey I just saw a flaw in my own argument.
IF the purpose of this site is to support customers
AND this site is selling Enigmas
THEN the mods, who support the customers, should receive free enigmas thus to be better able to support the customers

That's great thanks for the info. Again they are getting it for me as a housewarming present, I just gave them the PC so hardware wise they are taking care of it. Just curious though, does it need to be a special receiver that's been hacked for this to work? Jus tbecause i'm pretty certain they will get me the standard box where I'd love to get the high def, just not sure what I'd need to look for..

Ive seen the pics...Most of the pics posted have been said to be of the pay as you go dish card, not of a card swap...some have even said they use the 206 cards with refurbished irds, not with new ones...I purchased a new ird from dish recently(last month) and it came with an SO cam, not a red card...If there was a swap going on, dont you think there would be alot more peeps posting saying i got a new card insted of the few who have posted?
