cpu compiling problem?

when I use seaboard's djgpp I get message "make not recognized as command etc." I have tried 2 other djgpp packages and get error messages. what's up? using legal xp. ca't find threads on this subject anywhere.

there is a great djgpp compilation at the xxx.thefileshop.com it is about 18 mb file but after installing that i had no problems with compiling.

tried that one. I think the problem must be with my cpu. Is everyone just using dos that comes with xp or a more complete version?

djgpp is it's own dos I believe but yes, just standard dos with xp pro. i am sure home is the same
