Your first testing IRD should NOT be a 625 IMO, as the learning curve to get it going is probably too steep for you. Try a 301.010 with a jtag cutout slot first. You will need:

1. a 301.010 with jtag cutout slot
2. a jtag (buffered is my recommendation)
3. an unlocked rom 102 card
4. an ISO programmer
5. a PC (not a Mac!)
