Getting a VIP622 up and running in Montreal, Canada

Call up Bell and subscribe. AFAIK, the VIP IRDs are not hackable (yet). Supposedly, there is an enigma jtag module to help modify these IRDs, but it's been promised for months now.

Not with the VIP 622 at this time, no. If all you want is MPEG-2 HD, then the 811, 921, and 942 are options. However, there's nothing public AFAIK for MPEG-4 IRDs

Oh, yeah... I forgot. If you're feeling nostalgic or "old school," or you simply want to be able to jtag the IRD to make things easier, there's also the slower-than-the-wrath-of-gawd 6000 (think of it as a HD 2700!) for MPEG-2 HD content.

All of the local network channels are MPEG4. Also, see:

Any channel with a check under the MPEG4 column, you cannot get with a 6000, 811, 921, or a 942.

Last but not least, do any of those units have PVR capabilities?
