After giving up emulation on dave years ago, I now want to take a look at DISH.

I have an old Bell set with 2700 receiver (equivalent to DISH 2800). The card has 103### at the bottom, and S04... for the barcode. Are they usable?

I'd go for an easy route, either emulation or whatever simple and less bothering.... aware need to buy something from the mili's store. If using the 2700/card is troublesome, will forget about them.

I'd first use the old 18" dish and LNB for one sat (119 or 121). Later then add another dish with a switch for two sats.

Please point me a right direction. Thanks a bunch.

you will need a jtag, and i am unsure about the card, put it in receiver and look at system info screen to see rom and rev (do not hook up sat cable) you will need a loader to unlock and program, if y0u want to use that card, (if it is usable) you will want the 119 dish to start most of programming is on that sattelite (most ppv's on 110 sattelite) you need 119/110 to get most of it, goto www.bellexpress.vu and read getting started how to's for more info,

If the card isn't any good you can get an enigma for $79. The card needs to be a 102 card.

Thanks guys.
Even without inserting the card, the Sys info shows DNASP010 RevA16. Does this mean Rom 10, and Rev A16? Is a 102 card? is good?

Ok. I'll buy an enigma or rom 102 card - which one makes things easier?

So 2700 receiver still usable.

could list what else I'll need?

Enigma card is very easy. You will need:
1. enigma
2. j tag
3. receiver (2700 will work)
4. mini usb cable

Thanx. i'll buy the enigma card and the buffered jtag programmer (seems $39).

Any special with the mini usb cable? Is the same as the one used for interfacing digital camera? (the mini side is a tiny trapezoid-shape connection).

I am using the usb from my digital camera and I have no problems. James-x, why would you buy a 102 card? Enigma cards can auto roll and won't get looped.
