Going Out Of My Mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everybody, I'm new to this game and I have a serious problem. Last Wednesday the keys rolled for my dish net, went to computer to program and haven't been able to figure it out yet!!!! This is the problem: I have had the system for about 4 months now(DishDVR522 with ROM-102 yellow equivalent card, and usb programmer). My system at home is an HP Pavilion Slimline s7700n Pc with windows vista. I use Romcode to program and have had no problems until last Wed. Now when I program, Romcode reads the card, then gives "failed to find blocker patch" error. I tried cleaning card, which it did, but still gives same error. Anybody have any ideas as my wife is driving me crazy without t.v. Thanks in advance.

redownload romcode if you can plus vista dont like programing cards very well try Reloading Card Then post answer.

get a computer with XP, vista is not programmer friendly. I have vista on laptop but still have xp on desktop to program with. try redownloading romcode. it should find blocker patch no problem, but try on a computer with xp first. i bet that will solve problems.

Thanks for the quick responses. Guess I'll have to get xp back up and running. Re-downloaded romcode but still getting same error. What I don't understand is how come I was able to program with no problems 4 or 5 times(however many times it went down in the last 4 months). Can xp be used on my computer with vista and just switch between the two? This is probably a stupid question, but concerning none the less. Thanks in advance.

1st question: make sure you use the same version romcode to unlock card as you used to program it with.

2nd, yes you can but from NOW ON vista will be on the boot sector of your hdd.
it wants to be first and soon as you install it takes over. I have a multi boot set up on a laptop and it will ask you if you want to boot to vista or to previous Micro$oft version.
I rarely use vista and I do not get on internet with it I just want to see what is up with it. I can connect I just dont. I like it just not ready to o full time on it yet.
Some of my programs work with it some do not.
I do not have the link I used to follow install instructions or I would share it. there are plenty more out there to go by just be sure it is a newer page. some of the old beta vista install pages people made are way out of date.
I have all my files and programs just like before on XP, nothing has changed except! I can boot to vista if I want to.
I may be wrong on this but I think you can only upgrade to vista, you cannot load XP on a system that has vista on it now.
you will have to make a partition for vista to load on, I used partition manager or acronious to create one, really cant remember which

Chippies..buy a second hard drive and install XP on it. Go to bios and choose which disk u want to boot to depending on the version of windows you want. Newer systems will even boot to USB disks.

Thanks again for the speedy responses. Just spent all weekend getting old hard drive up and running(which has windows xp home edition on it). Just tried to program card and still getting "failed to find blocker patch" error. I tried the old 4.30 version of romcode and the newer 4.31 version, which I have used all along. Both are the same. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I use a usb port connection instead of a serial port connection??? When card was originally sent to me, it was already up and running. Could this have anything to do with it. Could windows vista have done something to programmer? I'm really new to this and I am lost on how to fix this. Thanks in advance
