Dish 921

I was able to pick up a cheap 921 receiver. Can this receiver be used with enigma? Do I need a different testing technique? Do I need a subscription?

The short answer is no, since the IRD cannot be jtagged.

The long answer is yes, since you can replace the TSOP with a cloned one from another IRD and program your enigma with the private cam image that usually comes with this TSOP replacement service. I know of exactly two reputable people who provide this service -- one charges $120 and another who charges $225 for the 921.

Can an enigma be used for the 921 if you already have the married card for it thats already open? I ask this simply because im looking for an autoroll alternative to plastic but i dont want to risk my 103.

Not sure if the enigma does ROM 103 or not, don't think so but then I am not sure.

I have a 942 and am using my only rom 103 card with it. I'm blockering it with "Dishwiz 103 B2 kill blockers version 2," a no-autoroll blocker and all is well thus far!

enigma does not support rom 103, I believe it may one day.

Thank you for your reply. I too am running the same blocker, but like everyone else... I am really getting annoyed with the keys changing every 3 hours. One of the best things about this recvr is the amount of stuff you can record, but it's useless if im going 005 all the time. I was just looking for a safe alternative to plastic with autoroll.

I edited out your receiver and smartcard id not sure why i didn't catch that earlier. it is not a really bad thing to post but better left private. Depending on where you got, i wouldn't want charlie seeing it and trying to track it back.,

lizard king, i'm very interested in this cloning tsop for the 921. after the clone does the 921 function as tho it has a rom 102? if so it would seem it could be used with an enigma. does it still keep it's dvr and hd functions? can you put me in touch with the cloning service?
