Have a Dish Pro 501 receiver and a Dish Pro Dual LNB and for some reason only the "odd" transponders are there. After running a check switch I get lost satelite signal on even transponder channels. Tried 2 different Dish Pro Dual LNB's.....any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Try a new receiver, the 501 is famous for losing a conex sat tuner chip.

Thanks for the reply. I have used this reciever recently on a couple of old lnb's and a sw21, worked fine. If the reciever is bad is it posible to replace the chip? Am I right, the dish pro dual has the switch included and each connection will run a reciever? Thanks

conex chip is not exactly easy to change, and that may not even fix the problem as there are a couple other chips that can and do fail too.

Yes a DP twin and quad lnbs are self contained, only needs a switch if you have more receivers than there are outputs on the lnb. Unless you mean the individual DP lnbs, then a DP21 is needed, a SW21 won't work.

Hey Skinerd.. I got home tried that 501 on my sys. with two old lnb's & a sw21 the darn thing works fine all channels odd & even. They aren't marked dish pro. I didn't think a 501 would work on anything but dishpro.
Any ideas Thanks for the help. Rehash

501's work with the legacy stuff as well sounds as if your dishpro is bad, maybe the built in multi switch is gone tits up!!!!!

Well if it uses a SW21 then they are definately legacy lnb's, DP receivers will work on either DP or legacy, just remember to do a switch check when you change.

I'd try another DP lnb, and if it still don't work, just stay with the legacy lnb's, cause the 501 still could be bad, it uses different components to drive the different lnb types.
