heyy
thanks to all who helped me earlier but i really needed to ask this question
the thing is that i have a dish 2800 which has been converted to b3v by using the junk yard fix.
now my question is that would the receiver take updates if i just clear the sa5 from the jkeys staying on its current tsop?
btw. i am using an atmega
thanks in advance for your help

it will force update to current rev if you erase sa5. it should take updates without doing though if you want it too.

i tried doing that but when i insert my atmega it give a message of " the smart card inserted is not valid with this receiver " the atmega is loaded with the latest file
so i am guessing since it was a dish receiver originally, therefore it is still running on the same tsop and the box keys and stuff so i should need to flash it with a bev tsop and a virgin eeprom
just need to clarify on what to do
thanks in advance

Numbers on ird (ird #, box keys) must match the numbers on the card
You're trying to do publc now, right? cuz I remember before you were trying to go private?
So your tsop need to be altered to the bev numbers (yes save and write virgin eeprom too)....then use the wicked bev pfg
when you read with jkeys do you see the bev public numbers on there?

can you please post a b3v tsop file my built is CSCD and its 2800 dish net
thanks and yes now i will be making my own jtag but having a hard time finding a six wire phone cable
Use an old computer ribbon cable and strip it down to six leads. That works pretty good for jtags. Cheap too. Don't make the lead more than 8 inches. Six would be better. If you erase SA5 and stream to bev the box will convert to BEV all on it's own and it will also update to latest firmware. After the update it will appear as a 2700 in sys. info.
