The 351 looks like a 301 (I don't know which regid, though), which can be jtagged.

Without it hooked up to the stream, go the system info screen and post what it says after "DNASP."

Yes, it's unlockable, but the loop rate is pretty high. If you're going to mess with it, then remove the iCam, mount it on a BGA wafer board and try to unlock it with rebelserf's latest script. I wouldn't mess with re-wiring (activating) the card slot until after you know for sure whether the cam is unlocked, or not. Good luck.

A 351 will NOT receive normal satellite programming, it is for private systems only.

It don't have a sat tuner for one thing.........you can't use a normal receiver in it's place, and you can't use it for a normal receiver.

This receiver is your basic 301 receiver, but is intended for MDU purposes using a QAM Technology. In a nutshell in a QAM system you setup your own headend and you run and split the cable just like you would with regular Cable Tv. Its ideal for MDU situations where the building is already wired with Rg59 or Cable.

A system for redistributing a broadband audio-visual-data signal to a multiplicity of receiver units within a multiple dwelling unit (MDU) includes a main receiving antenna that receives a broadband video/audio/data signal having a number of individual program multiplex signals therein and a transmodulator device that transmodulates the individual program multiplex signals associated with the broadband signal from a first modulation scheme to a second modulation scheme to reduce the bandwidth of the broadband signal. The transmodulated signals are broadcast over a cable network, along with terrestrial signals, to individual receiver units at the MDU. The receiver units demodulate the transmodulated and/or terrestrial signals and provide user-specified channels to television sets for display.

You can pick up a 301 cheap, use the chip on a BGA board if it is unlocked, will work fine.

Yes, either version of the 301 will work (301.010 or 301.013), but if you're new to this, I would go for an 010, since they don't have to be vidmodded. Every 013 that I've encountered has to be vidmodded, which isn't a big deal if you have reasonable soldering skills.
