Im not to sure of what cards I have or even know how to tell.

I can get my hands on a loader and programmer that was used for DTV cards long time ago.
I do have an extra computer with winME on it, I am good with pretty much all electrical items.. Just need to know what do I need to get started....
I would really appreciate any help.( THE KIDS ARE KILLING ME.......NO SPONGEBOB)

turn card over, look at bottom left corner, there is a number, the first three numbers need to be 102 or else look at system info screen on receiver, look for dnasp rom ??? rev ??? fill in question marks. now also old dtv programmer is no good. and if the rom is 102 the rev will 10B which means the cards have a high chance ofl looping if you buy a current unlocker. goto www.bellexpress.vu and read the getting started guide. read read read then come back and ask quetions.

I tried to do the reading part but it is really somewhat confusing, and really have no clue on what is needed. Or anything

Here is some info i got from the receiver.
model #3900
receiver ca id- rxxxxxxxxxxx
smart card id-sxxxxxxxxxxx
dnasps01 dsh608
software ver p352clfd-n
bootstrip ver 11abclfd

The card doesn't have the logo's on it like the hbo and stuff. On the back it it really doesn't have small number on the bottom left corner but on the bottom right corner it says
127843
sw-02

I tried to go to the newbie link and it is asking some stuff that I have not clue of what it is.

You have an Sw-02 card, not useable at this time
If you want to use "plastic," i.e. a Dish card, it needs to be Rom 102. You'll also need a jtag, an ISO programmer, and if the Rom102 card is locked, an unlocker.
Alternatively, you could use an Atmega or an Enigma. Different cards and procedures.
Or you could set yourself up with emu or cemu.
Or you could cheat lol and get yourself an FTA box and hook it up to your dish 500.
I think that covers most of your options.

I figured that the cards I have are not good for programing.

PRETTY MUCH ASKING WHAT ARE THE UP's AND DOWN's OF MY OPTIONS

Which is the best way go. (pro's and con's)

Do I need a computer to run all the time??
Fixing a blacked out card???

Which FTA receiver's are good. OR will they all work?? What is needed to run the FTA Receiver?

Sorry for all the questions but Im just hoping to good in the right direction.

Hey man if you got an extra computer , I think I would check into that EMU,cheapest option so far.

What is EMU?

IS that the only thing I need? And what do I do run a program on the comp?

Anyone ? :o

I can only give you limited help, as I am just getting started again. You will need the computer of course, most any old one will do. You will need the latest Cemu program that talks to the IRD. You will need a cable that goes from your puter to the IRD. You will need some kind of board, internal or external that the cable from your computer plugs into the IRD, make your own or buy a Mel/Max board. You will need a Jtag cable to program your IRD tsop and eeprom with. You will need the program for the Jtag to talk to the IRD. After all this is done, life will get much easier. Hope this did not overwhelm you.
