I had my laptop to go bad that I used my JTAG adapter with... Now, I get errors when I try to write back to my DP301 recievers.
My question is, (used to know the answer but forgot). What format is the printer support supposed to be in.. (EPP, ECP), and any other details that I may have forgotten.
Thanks in advance.
Sparkie.

I use SPP, but any should work.
Perhaps you new PC won't jtag, recently JT had a thread about a PC that refused to jtag, I also have one that refuses.
my desktop that I use for this is older and it only asks for bi-directional, I cant remember which letters it was. It would not work on the other setting.
try one then reboot and try the other.
let us know which letters it was to refresh our memory

SPP is bi-directional...........
this is something I found...
The chipset mode just makes extra registers available to the software,
but has no effect on the peripheral. From the peripheral's point of
view there is no difference -- any transfer mode can be used from any
chipset mode, it's just that some chipset modes make it easier (or
faster) for the software to perform the transfer.

Feeling like an idiot... It was the batterys... It would read the EEPROM's ok, but apparrantly it consumes more power to write the data. I had assumed if it worked for one, it would work for the other.... NOT TRUE... Maybe this info will help someone else...
