I purchased an ex-subbed DN DVR-510 that has a system password lock that I need to bypass and the previous owner is no help. I was successful in getting into the memory dump by using the MENU-6-3-Info-Right-Left method. However, at line NVM 0320, only the following shows up:
00000000 00000000 00000400 00000410
Does anyone know where the password line for the 510 memory dump is? Thanks.

That feature has long since been disabled, you need to read the eeprom by jtagging or write a virgin eeprom by jtagging.
Or you can just guess at it, only 10,000 possibilities. (0000-9999)
Many people use 4 easy to remember numbers, such as address, last 4 of SSAN or phone number, birthday etc....probe the neighbor, maybe he will remember.

you can still do a hard reset from the memory dump screen. I did the same thing 2 weeks ago and it worked, will see if I have how to writing down and post back or you can search and probably find it faster.

That doesn't normally work, depends on the firmware revision.......

Your right on that one, but have done it on 510 with latest firmware 3.69 and worked also on a couple of 301's that had latest, I have also had it not work many more times and had to make new eefrom which almost always works.
Just one of those hit or miss things that may or may not work for you.
Good luck

I meant to say "always" sorry about that, I have a hard time remembering all this stuff and make lots of notes but then have to find the notes and well you know.

Writing a virgin eeprom sets the password to FFFF, which sometimes messes up the system info screens. To clear that up, just add a password, then you can remove it, and the system info screens will function correctly.
