i have a 1000.2 dish that i know works with legacy receivers ,but you have to have a dp reciever conected to it in order to work. the thing is that i had no problems with connecctions. until yesterday. my 6000 would not recognice the switch, even if i reset the ird. i have tried reseting both receivers, even with different configurations on the 'check switch" window. i have spend quite afew time to get my receiver going. i have no prblems with my 301. it gets hte signal with no problem, is just my 6000. and i do not want to take down my new 1000.2 since i just bougth it about two weeks ago and replace it with a 500 dish, .any suggestions would be appreaciated, thanks, guys!

unless they are dish pro plus lnb's you will need a dish pro adapter, look on ebay for them. I have a DPP lnb and sometimes i think legacy receivers get a little flaky on seeing it properly. so perhaps that is the case for you as well. I only run legacy receivers for short periods of time and can't verify long term compliance with DPP lnb's. I kow for a fact they will not work with DP lnb's.

Did your DP301 happen to lose power (get unplugged) yesterday?

The reason I ask is that I have a similar setup as you -- a d*sh 1000.2 with DPP LNBF connected to a DP301, a 3900, and a 6000. When connecting the IRDs to the LNBF, one MUST connect and power the DP301 IRD FIRST before connecting any legacy IRDs.

Therefore, my suggestion would be to unplug your 6000 for 30 seconds so that the only IRD connected to your LNBF is your powered-up DP301. Re-plug in your 6000, do a check switch, and this should solve your problem. Let us know if this works for you.

This may be a little off topic, but I know for a fact that the DPP works with legacy irds. I had run a 3900 for over 6 months without any problems.

Yes, and you must be powering the DPP LNBF with a DP IRD so that your 3900 works "without any problems." HTH.

Nope, I packed up the dpp ird and haven't been using it for quite a while. The 3900 has been the only ird attached for most of the time. Some times i attach a second 3900 or 2700 but both work great! I have a 500 dpp.... you are right that a dp ird is required when a third orbital slot is used on the aux input of the lnbf - to get the legacy ird to 'see' the third dish.

Hmmm... As the Japanese would say, "omoshiroi," which means, "very interesting."

I am having a similar problem. Dish Pro Plus Triple LNBF on the roof. I have a vip622 working fine. I put the 6000 on one of the lines coming from the switch, and check switch doesn't detect a switch. I am able to put a 4900 on that same line, and it detects all sats.

I have tried a dp legacy adapter, and doesn't work with the 6000 either. Turns out with DP Plus, as long as the switch is powered, you don't need the legacy adapter.

If anyone knows how to get the 6000 working in a configuration like this, let me know.

Disregard previous post. I got it working. Set it to Superdish Sat3 on the check switch screen. Cycled power. Check switch. Recognized all sats!
