Dp 311.015

I was given two(2) DP 311.015 's today. Both ex-subbed. I have the info for popping the BGA. I know how to hook up the card slot. I also have the JTAG points on the MoBo and I think I can handle soldering that tiny shite.



1. Can I use an Enigma or Atmega on this receiver?

2. I believe these receivers can be JTagged, can I use the numbers on the receiver to put on an Atmega / ENigma or do I have to dump the BGA to get info needed...?

3. Can I dump the flash, open it in FlashEdit, and change to public info, then reflash the receiver..?

(note: I do NOT have an ISO reader / programmer or any testing devices for plastic)


How would you pop the BGA?

Torch or Heat Gun ---

if those were your only options..?


I have searched and this is where i am at, not clear as to what I really know here. I have DL'd everything possible and read everything I can find.

Best you hook up to a TV and find out what chip and rev is in them before jumping in.

If the DNASP in system info is 206 rev whatever, you out of luck for now.
If DNASP 102 rev 281 or 283 those are easy to unlock, 284 and up are subject to loop rather easily, 289 is a real bear.

I use a wagner heat gun to pop mine off, be careful you don't melt anything else, not hard to pop off, not hard to overheat either.

311's cannot be jtagged right now.........but if you get a chip open you can just use the data from it to reactivate the box.
I throw 311 in trash, just remove chip and put on BGA board, make it into a 102 rev 103 and go from there. 301 receivers are plentiful and cheap.

so the JKEYS def file for 311 is not valid?

its 102 REV 289. I saw so many different posts on Dss-newbies and elsewhere that said you could use JKeys and the 311 def file to dump flash, and reflash. But I don't think I ever saw anyone claiming to HAVE done it.

I have zero card testing hardware. So i guess they are fancy doorstops.

The 289 can be opened, you won't know till it's tried. I personally would not even try, cause I'd almost certainly loop the damn thing.
