Hello,

I bought a 522 dvr today. I already had a 301 receiver and it was working fine. I have an unlocked 102 card. On the 301 I currently get all the PPV channels and HBO etc. movie channels. However, when I tried to hook up the 522 I was able to get it to automatically download the software, and I can see the channels on the channel guide, and what should be playing on the channels, but the PPV channels are now asking me to pay, and the other channels won't actually come up. I can see the PPV guide channel just fine like regular, but that's it.

When I unhook the 522 and hook the other receiver back up there's no problem. So what am I missing? Please help.

Thanks

You glitch the chip on the 522 open?? Then program the chip correctly?
522 is a dual tuner receiver and to work correctly, after updating, it will need both sat inputs connected.

No, I didn't "glitch the chip on the 522 open". I actually don't even know what that means. I'm not tech savvy at all. Maybe it was done before I bought it, or not at all. All I know is I have 1 sat. With 1 cable running to the receiver. I plugged it into the sat1 port. I stuck the yellow card that was in my 301 in it, and after a couple of screens it prompted me that it was automatically updating the software, and then I could see the channel guide, but couldn't actuallly watch the channels. I could, however, see the PPV guide channel.

So what does it sound like is my problem?

you need to mod receiver. if you are not tech savvy, the only way to get it to work is sub with dish. you need a receiver with dnasp 103 rev 380-387 exsub and need to mod. good luck!

522 is prolly at 38B, not glitchable at this time.

The card slot, unless it has been rewired, is inactive.
