Title says it all, i dunno what to do really, this is the first time i've experienced something like this... It was very random, i was watching tv one minute and the next was black. Lost signal, etc etc, im only getting 110, then i did a test and got errors on both, so there was nothing... what can i do? (IRD is 301)

Check your coax comming from the 119 LNB. Could also be your SW switch has failed. Both up and runnung here.

Well, i got it working again, i jiggled a few things, kicked another, and unplugged and plugged in again the coax cable, i guess that did it. Pardon the major n00bness, whats the SW switch? Thanks for the reply, by the way.

Your welcome for the reply, no problem. Asked about a billion questions here my self, still do for that matter...........lol. You just got lucky asking a question concerning something I can almost talk intelligently about.....lmoa. SW switch combines the two feeds, 110,119 into one cable going into the back of the recviever. You must have LNB with built in switch. Never seen one but saw them discussed here.

Then i think i should consider into buying a new one, cause... i managed to get 119, but 110 is gone now... :S Its effin weird! And i get firmware updates, yet i can never complete them, makes me even wonder if its safe to download them. Do you think i should look into the option of a new LNB (with said built in switch)?

I'm not familiar with the built in switches, so all I can do is guess. You can get an SW21 at ratshack (The Source) for less than 20 bucks here in the great white north. would be worth it just to have and you can test your system with it to boot. Did you run check switch on your reciever?

I did, said that im only runnin' on one satellite... Obviously whoever made these IRD's was a fuckin captain obvious, but anyway, thats beyond the case. I think i should also try switching the coax cable from the antenna, since it has 4 of them, but since its already dark ill probably fall on my head, so i'll have to wait 'til tomorrow, but im strongly considering another switch... as soon as i find out what it is, hehehe.

That happened to me once on one receiver in particular, it drove me nuts for a couple of weeks checking this and that. In my case it was something weird on the card itself. The problem cleared up after a reprogramming (Rom102) and has not returned. Worth a try.

Hmm, well thanks for the heads up, even though I guess i should have said that im running on cemu, so i dunno if the same rule applies.

Yup, could be the cable for sure. Do a Google search for "SW21" or "SW44" that will explain what they do as well. 44 takes feed from 2 LNB's and splits it for 4 recievers.
Are you US or Canada? Radio shack here in CA was bought out by "the source". Go to either, tell them you want an SW21 switch for your Sat. Switch looks just like ordinary cable splitter, only it's way not normal. 1 feed from each LNB attaches to the double female side of the switch. a single cable runs from the single female side of the switch to your sat reciever.

Cemu is something I know nothing about. Got a PC here earmarked for that project, just haven't gotten around to it. Gotta figure the sat signal rules still apply to it though...

Alright, im gonna do those things, to test anyway, it wont hurt. First try the cable and then get the switch. Thanks for all the help, even when i come out n00bish, hehe.

Hmm, i was thinking, is it possible that this is firmware related? I mean.. like whats the latest firmware for the 301-13? And how can i get it if it wont update.

I am having the same problem... I have a 301.013 running atmega and a 322 legit, both being run from a dish pro plus. The 322 gets both 110 and 119. the 301 only gets 119. I've tried swapping ird locations but the 301 still doesn't get 110 while the 322 works in both places. I had a 3900 that i plugged into it with an atmega and got both 110 and 119. So it's just in my 301. is it firmware related? oh, both 3900 and 301 atmegas were running the same flash (i even swapped cards to check).

Was testing a 301-013 w/plastic. Samething only one sat. Messed with it a few times and it was the receiver for sure with the problem. Redid the card a couple of times and it didn't help. Lost it in the last ECM and never have messed with it again. It was the 013 not the connections. Look there for the problem.

Yeah, something tells me its gonna be the IRD. I guess i'll have to get a jtag for the job.
it could be a bad tuner chip on the IRD, or it could be the IRD firmware version you have. I have had the one-eyed issues before on my PVRs at certain revisions. Some versions were just buggy. You Might have to jtag the box if you can't get it to update. You say it starts, but doesn't finish? That is odd.
There is a guy here called Skinerd who is very knowledgeable about different firmware versions. Hopefully he will see this thread and chime in.
BTW, if you have 4 cable connections on your LNB, then you have what is called a QUAD... They have switches built into them and will support 4 IRDs at once. They are good to have. :)

It sounds like the IRD is the one to blame, it justs asks me.. theres fre updates available.. blah blah blah, i say yes, it starts getting information, then aquiring satellite, then back to info.. but it never does anything else. Or is it supposed to do that only? And yeah, when i press sys info it says dp-quad-2. So you think it doesnt have any problems? The Lnb?

okay, I fixed my problem... both the 322 AND the 301 are supposed to work with the dish pro plus lnbf. well.... as i said the 322 saw both dishes while the 301 saw just one. I knew that the cables and everything was good since both my 3900 and 322 both worked. I also tried updating the firmware to the latest and still just one sat. So anyways, I erased the eeprom on the 301 (using the menu method) and then unplugged BOTH irds. Then I plugged in the 322 FIRST. I waited 5 minutes for it to get signal and picture. I ran check switch on that ird - both lnbfs were seen (that one always saw both). Then I plugged in the 301 and let it do its thing. Once it got picture I ran check switch and both lnbfs were found! it has been working great all night. I hope this helps someone
ALRIGHT!!!! This is great. What I like is two things.
1. You stuck with it and figured it out. Probably has something to do with cable lengths or something but you got it going by not giving up.
2. You came back an posted what you did. Many people don't do that. It great when someone does like you because as you said, it very well could help others.
Good job man.

Hmm, Menu method? What would that be? Or how... What are the risks you take when you do it and should i do it, considering that i dont have a 'backup' IRD?
