I dug up an old 3900 receiver and was thinking bout going Atmega route.
I was looking around at cards and programmers and was wondering if there is a compatibility difference between programmer/cards that are fitted with 18.432mhz crystals as oppsed to 18mhz crystals?
I understand that these cards are programmed differently from the 102s, but functionality wise, do they do the same thing?
edit: it has been brought to my attention that this technology is outdate for our applications? is that the concensus?

No, they don't. Atmega128 will proccess a lot of the commands that a 102 will, but no where near the same amount nor at a speed that matches. Not sure about the new atmega256, this will be closer but still, I doubt, will not be the same.

I'm running a 508 with Atmega128 18.432 with no issues at all, not sure what the big difference would be with a 102. I'm also running a 3100 with an Atmega128 18mhz crystal and don't see any issues either....I do have a few 102 cards and see no need to use them yet.

simple freezing for a product that was suppose to be obsolete three years ago is really amazing. I wish i would of kept my atmega's. I am about ready to order some more, but I don't want to piss off the atmega community, cuz if i buy one they will knock them out, that is just my luck! lol

Man if they went out tonite, you guys had one hell of a ride, if you had it month and it went out forever you still spent less than a dollar a day. that is just good cheap tv right there. and the new wicked loader is just amazing. unbelievable the ease to make local remap and private info.
