System info says dnasp 102 rev 283 but there is a yellow card in the slot? I thought that rev 283 was an internal cam rev. The receiver has a yellow rom 102 card in it? Can anyone explain this for me?

take the yellow cam out and see if you still get rev283. If so, then the cam doesn't belong to that ird, someone just stuck it in there, ie. the cam slot isn't wired up (self-activated).

If u pull out cam and it says please insert card, then the no i-cam exists in the ird (was removed) and the cam slot was activated. You can make a rom102 display any rev that you want depending on the blocker. Most blockers you can "spoof" to whatever rev you want. In your case...rev283

I don't have the receiver with me but the sticker says its a model 301. No internal cam on a 301 is there? Is there any good reason to spoof a plastic rom 102 to rev 283?

301 uses a card, 311 does not.
if it is a 301 someone used an Icam bin and maybe Icam blocker on the card.
Works fine, but why bother, plastic stuff is more common.
