fortunatly around here one can buy a card for $5 at a saturday yard sale.

Unfortunatly there's not many yard sales that have the things we need, ie: few & far inbetween. luckly there's testers who'll part with some for reasonable prices & do the reqiured work to them to insure a working card - no loop holes ! ha ha hehe.
