I recently acquired 2 DP311 (ROM102) receivers without the remotes.
I know and understand that I cannot get some information from the IRD without this (blue) remote.
I would like to know if there is any way to get the revision number without it or any other information from within the IRD?
Also, I see that the DP311 has successfully been modified by cutting traces and mounting a "wedge" type PCB card via short jumper wires.
To convert this IRD to FTA, what hardware will be required for Glitching, jtagging, and programming?
I'm an old DTV (pre-P4) user and am not above putting DIP Headers into it for modification, but I'm not comfortable with removing the chip.

Any help or pointers?
Mayhaps a volunteer to modify one of these and keep the second as a "Thank You"?

Perhaps my first priority should be getting my hands on a remote. I'll check into that while I'm waiting for a reply/replies.

No FTA for a 311, can't edit flash.

Most remotes work, get rom and rev from page 3 of system info.

I pull chip, but an interface board can be installed, info here somewhere.

Rev 287 and 289 are tough to open, subject to loop fairly easily. Hope for a rev 281 or 283, but settle for what you get.

Short and to the point. Perfect answer.
Thanks.

Next question: What do you think these IRDs are worth? I believe, from the way they act, they are ex-subbed but how long ago I'm not sure.

They are worth what you can get for them.
Really depends on rev of 102 Icam, the higher the rev, the less worth.
281- 283 maybe $50 - $70, 284-286, maybe $40, 287 - 289, $30 tops...IMHO..
I have bought 281s for $5 at yard sales, but you don't find them that cheap often.

Personally I throw them away after pulling chip. Not worth the hassle, 301s can be picked up for a song, use the Icam on a BGA board for a rom 102, works fine.
