I was wondering if a harddrive from a 7200 could be used as storage in a computer. I know its only 20 gig or something like that but i need a little extra storge. Also if it can could someone tell me how to do it.

take it out of dishplayer and put in computer, format for your system.

oh you may want to set it up as a slave using the jumper setting on the drive itself. usually with newer computers just put it on CS (cable select) and make sure your main drive is set on CS as well. the cpu will do the rest.

no problem, if the CS setting does not work then you want to set up your existing drive as master and the extra dvr player drive as slave.
