I can confirm that the cemu 1.96-2 is working great. It autorolls and no desub issues yet. I'm running it on a 3900 with public info. There were a few compiling issues with DJGPP, but once those were fixed then it compiled without errors. I can't stress it enough that it needs a pure DOS boot to run cemu. It will give nothing but errors when run under windows. I'll post more when I get time.

ill let you know. im on my 100th redo. may get lucky. hey on the other side of that when you make compress in djgpp is your exe the cemusrc file? cause that has whipped my ass. i added everything to make it a boot floppy but cemusrc is way to big to fit on a floppy. crazy says screw it just do it. but evry time i do the floppy is filled and wanting another. that shit aint gonna work. if you have any thoughts send em my way. ill tell you how frustrated i am im thinking about e-mailing the guy who wrote djgpp for an answer. right now i aint got the balls. thanks Duh1

duh1,

You're screwing something up dude.... When you "make" the cemu.exe file is created and it's put in the cemu_src sub directory. When you "make compress" it compresses it down to about 333k.

after you compile your source files ,look in cemu_src sub ditectory and find
( cemu.exe ). right click and send to floppy.
It will replace the old one.

run djgpp command prompt:
make clean
make djgpp=small
make compress
right click on cemu.exe and send to floppy. if using bev make sure you update your eep images to 248.

if so the size of the folder is the same as before 3.6mb way to big for floppy. should i have the folder pmcon in cemusrd before running commands? should i first open pmcom folder before running djgpp or leave it as a folder? some say pmcom is not needed for 1.92 and above. im dying here need help.

Sounds like your trying to put the uncompiled files on a floppy. After you compile what ever version you want to use you ONLY put the cemu.exe and cemu.conf files on the floppy. The rest of the can be deleted. You need different files to make the floppy boot up. You will also need the files that run along with CEMU..... Look on the file shop for a bootable floppy program for CEMU. They come with everything but the CEMU.EXE file.... good Luck

You're not going to put the whole folder on the floppy just the cemu.exe

I had a issue last time i compiled. the cemu.exe said it was 3+ mb even after compressing. I then attempted to put it on a floppy and it went right on and said it was 500 kb or so. I have seen one other report of this. So if it is too big after compiling go ahead and try to put it on floppy anyway, might be a glitch in the file size.

0crazy tried that no luck. cemu 1.96 will not compress. the exe inn the file is perfect size but when i use it to replace the cemu in other bootable disk it is just another cemu wouldnt even have to use dgjpp can just pick it out of cemu 1.96 zip. what about all the other shit in the flder includig 86 and 96 entiries not to mention map fixes ect? what to do? i dont know. i thought that djgpp ws for compiling files like 1.96 must be wrong. 3.64m will mot run on a boot disk. and thats what im after . i mean even bsfore you add the mdos crap the file is 3.64m. what to do? thanks Duh1

i then must assume that cemu 1.96 can be used as a windows app onley not a pure dos version as advertized. Duh1

if you run make compress and you see upx.exe crunching the executable, you will definitely end up with a cemu.exe around 330K... and 1.96 works just fine in pure DOS

ithe 1.96 zip from the fileshop cotains a cemu exe that already is around 330k so if i stuck taht in anyother dos boot floppy with dish, bin with my private no.s youd think i would be ready to go? Duh1

Yeah, I'm not sure what the current etiquette is about posting compiled versions but if you find one that's really a 1.96 version, you should be good to go (obviously you'll need your bin file plus all the other bins and support files that go with cemu). If you happen to find a boot ready-made boot floppy all you should need to do is put your bin file with your numbers on that floppy and modify the cemu.cnf to match your setup.

kerm i understand what you mean by 'current' etiquette. however
. if you have a woRking version there is no reason youucouldn't send it to me via e-mail so i could compare it to my work and find my problems. only if you feel that it is morally right. it could save me more hair pulling. it is your call. Best Regards DUH1

The thing I'm having trouble understanding is that you described (maybe in another thread) seeing upx compressing your cemu- that basically proves it's there, it's just that for some reason you can't find it. Have you tried opening a dos box in windows and navigating to your source directory and doing a "dir" ? That should show you files with extensions, or at the very least show you something called "cemu" that's around 330K. If, when you type "make compress" you see upx compressing something, your cemu.exe has to be there.

there was a version of 1.96 on the file shop that was corrupted, and was huge in size, I think you have it. the download was over a mb, and the correct one is about 190kb... you should download and use cemu 1.96.2, it has the nag 153 fix, and the new morph routine fix, both required to work.

there is also a djgpp installer over there that is exellent and installs everything you need to compile properly.

if you are having red tier problems, get mr-tierworks 2.6..... it can make a patch file to update dish.bin correctly for cemu. you have to use an older version of nagraedit to patch the dish.bin file - I use version 4.1... the dish.bin is pretty much a rom 10 file, so the newer editors will not work.
