IRD 301 -13 can be converted to FTA

i remember reading this somewhere where they have schematics files...tools , but dont know if its real and where are they now.
can it be done and if so, it works as a pansat fortec.. or what .??
still need a card.??

I'll second that on no specific files. Can anyone point me to the right file for the following: 301.013 dual tsop to fta. Oh and also do I need to do that vid mod on some 301.013 or not. And last what the heck is vid mod for?

I did find files for a 301.013 single tsop, what sucks is the topside jtag..(where did I leave my sodering gun).

As far as I know it is only for single tsop 301-13's. You are converting it to a pansat 2500 model.
The file name is
013toFTA-jb1000-06.27.07

The vidmod is only necessary for the single TSOP 301.013. It unlocks the TSOP for programming.

There are file for both the 10 and the 13 ird's in the dual tsop irds you erase both but onlt flash the second one. You will find files labled 013toFTA for the sigle and D13toFTA for the Dual tsop models.

I posted this somewhere and got such great positive feedback I figured you guys may want it also. I am calling it the Down and Dirty 12 Step Guide because it is the basic steps as short and dirty as I can get it. No pictures or information that is not absolutely required:



1) Install jKeysMegaPack-v04.15.07
2) Open jKeys using jKeysMegaPack and select 013toFTA from the drop down
box if it does not auto detect for you.
3) Click on Flash Programming.
4) Click on Erase and wait for it to finish. You will have to click "Yes"
to any messages jKeys gives you.
5) On the left, you will see a drop down box that reads "Full-4096kb."
Change it to "Code-1280kb."
6) Click on Program, then open the folder named "013toFTA."
7) Select the file named "code013-041407-jb1000.bin" if you have a single
flash IRD or "codeD13-041407-jb1000.bin" if you have a dual flash IRD.
You will have to click "Yes" to any messages jKeys gives you.
8) Once complete, change the drop down box on the left to "channels-640kb."
9) Click on Program again and select the file named
"channels-sw21-041407-jb1000.bin" if you have the sw21 setup, or
"channels-twin-041407-jb1000.bin" if you are using the legacy twin.

Once complete, all you have left is to program the eeprom.

10) Close the Flash Programming screen and click on EEPROM Programming.
11) Click on Program and select the file named "eeprom-sw21-041407-jb1000.bin"
if you have the sw21 setup, or "eeprom-twin-041407-jb1000.bin" if you
are using the legacy twin.
12) Once finished, all you have to do is set your time zone and turn the
22kHz ON for the 110 sat so you can scan in your locals. Do not worry
about setting your date and time, the IRD will grab those from the
datastream if you have your Time Zone set correctly.

These settings will only work for the completo file with the HUMEXICO background. These settings are dependent on the completo file, not the channels file. Therefore, this will work with jb1000 AND mUAH channels files.

1. Click Menu
2. Click Installation
3. Click Antenna Setup
4. On jb1000 bin, click on Echo 6,8; on mUAH bin, click on Echostar 110. Set the top 4 settings as follows:
LNB Type = Dish-Pro
LNB Local-Freq. = 11250
22kHz = ON
DiSEqC = sw21 - 1; legacy twin - 3
5. If no signal strength, move down two places to the transponders.
6. If the current transponder number (number in parenthasis) is equal to or less than 20, push the right arrow button one time. If the transponder number is greater than 20, repeatedly push either the right or left arrow button until you are on transponder 2. If you now have a signal, push the Cancel button, then press the Select button to save. Otherwise, repeat step 5.
7. On jb1000 bin, click on Echo 7; on mUAH bin, click on Echostar 119. Set the top 4 settings as follows:
LNB Type = Dish-Pro
LNB Local-Freq. = 11250
22kHz = OFF
DiSEqC = sw21 - 2; legacy twin - 4
8. If no signal strength, move down 2 places to TP.
9. If the current transponder number is equal to or less than 20, push the right arrow button one time. If the transponder number is greater than 20, repeatedly push either the right or left arrow button until you are on transponder 2. If you now have a signal, push the Cancel button, then press the Select button to save. Otherwise, repeat step 8.
10. Click Cancel twice, then click on User Setup.
11. Move down to Time Setting and click on it.
12. Use the left or right arrow button to set the Time Zone to your own.
13. Move down one line and click on the time.
14. Click the down arrow 3 times.
15. Enter the time in 24 hour format, then push Select to exit the Time and Date screen.
16. Push Cancel 3 times.
17. As soon as you have TV, try changing the channels. The receiver will have probably stopped responding to the remote.
18. Push the Power button on the front of the receiver and hold it until the receiver turns off. Let go and the receiver will reboot.
19. When it stops again, repeat step 18. You should only have to do this a total of 3 times, then your receiver should purr like a kitten, unless you unplug it.
20. If you unplug it, you will have to repeat step 18 3 more times. You already set your TZ and 22kHz settings in steps 4 and 7, so you shouldn't have to do it again.

yeah there i'm just tring to do this converting now i didn't do the vidmod but when i hooked up the jtag (homemade) it read the box so i went on i went into flash program and did a full erase on both flashes wrote the bin in it took it then i wrote the eeprom now the thing doesn't turn on and the box# are all 0000's did i mess it all up is there something that can be done at this point???!!

and maybe something that i sould have thought about before how do i know if it's a single or dual or 301.013 or 301.010.. on the board it just says DP-301 with a pic of a bulldog the rtev level on the back is rev10 when i hooked it up to the j-tag it said 301/3100 dected i'm prtty sure that it said lsi 2000 under that ??

also if you need a hands free Jtag for the 301 i have one dirt cheap, made wrong cut on mother board anf fried my 301-13, so dont need this jtag, PM me. it does work and is awsome, hope i didnt violate any rules, if so mods please delete this message

Hands free , so its a wireless JTAG you say .??, mmh thats a new high tech jtag.hey i cant go that far yet in tech ., i have some simple question.
what i load files the JB 1000 .... and eeprom. and the FTA (now it is) kicks in , go to installation then TP scan , i have on the right side satelite echostar 7 and below it echostar 8,10, do i need to go to each seperatly then scan all 32 freq seperatly , ??
what and how its done right,.?

when i jtag it says lsi sc2000 processor i'm pretty sure that it's 301.10 can i do anything with this i have a couple of other box's around does anyone know if i can do anything with the dtv or an ariza 1000 or a max2000 thanks for the jtag offer but i'm just starting to play around with this stuff not that deep into it... yet haha
