parrot mode

The bev update is targeted at ROM102 and FTA devices. It incorporates more MAP functions (not to be confused with MAPcalls) relating to CMD07 processing, adding additional hashes, and also executing CRC checksums on the EEPROM space of the 102 card. Along with this, is the added bonus of sending ECM extensions through encrypted areas of the EEPROM. They are also adding in more receiver-specific commands pertaining to original/official echostar receivers/firmwares.

In addition, they also added another keytype which is enabled on the EMM-S series, like that with NFL last year and for some time playboy. This looks to be cam-specific so anyone without valid subbed cam/IRD info will not be able to roll new keys, and is likely this will be made system-wide on most or all ppv/sports/porn tiers.

The update was severely longer than previous rev updates, has been in the works for quite an amount of time, and likely is going to be very nasty when completely exposed. Expect more to unfold as they verify all subs unaffected, and continue to let more and more take effect.

end parrot mode

PGM's computer emulation. You can use it with a max/mel board and with or without an auxed card.

check out 1 chip emu's I made a post earlier http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72250
these things are easy to build especially if you have an old t911 or something with an atmel on it.

1 atmel with the proper flash and 8 wires later you have an emu setup, some prefer to have the max232 on there too but if you need it going this will work well.

you can wire it internally, or on a dummy card (Old data loger, avr board what ever) If there is enough demand I will upload an AIO package including diagrams and such.

ST19XL Hardware
maxmal board 1or2chip. I built the 2 chip from the Max`site. Mili may have them PM him.
old computer All you need is a main board that has two serial ports on the back, a floppy drive and a power supply. PII or PIII, AMD socket A that type of computer. No HD or CD rom needed.
Card reader if using an aux card. I use the Aux card setup on all of mine.
Open Rom card for Aux
1 serial 9 pin Dsub cable for the Aux card
1 9 pin Dsub with only 4 wires. Make this yourself. To go from the computer to the receiver. parts from R Shack
1 9 Pin Dsub connecter for the receiver.
1 floppy disc

I think thats about all for the hardware. All needed directions and files can be found on the forums depending on what type you are testing.

Good luck and have fun testing ST19.

You can also run CEMU, ST19XL, cardshare using the same maxmel board.
Build a 2 chip, or if your real fancy a 3 chip electronic switched internal that exits through your phone jack in the back which determines if the emu board is enabled or disabled.. this way you have the option to plug in EMU phone cable and turn card upside down to use EMU, or unplug phone cable and put card right side up to use plastic.

also you can run ST cardless, as the maps havn't changed. See the sticky on ST19 for the programs required. Also you can use an AVR3 card if you don't have a loader you can borrow a 2313 from, and you don't want to pay $12 for the 2313 to be shipped out (well, ATTiny2313 now - 90S are discontinued).
