Does anyone have a Soniceview 8000 with the Q-Board out there?? I heard that its able to view all HD channels from BEV and DishNet. Can anyone that has one give me some feedbacks. I do want to purchase one, however just wanna do some research before I go out and spend 600 big ones. Its crazy expensive but if it does have all the HD channels might be worth the investment if they dont shoot it down for a while.
Thx

I got 1. Aimed at 110, 119, 129,82, 91. Yes with the q board you can get all the hd channels (Mpeg4). Without the q board Bev hd right out of the box. The unit does have some heating issues even with the q board. Mine has gone green screen 3 times in the last 2 weeks. You have to do a reset. There is also some micro freezing. There are several mods that you can do to address these issues. Some have better results than others. At this point I would still have to say that I am glad I bought 1. Who knows what the future holds for FTA though. It is always a gamble with any device. If Bev and Dish go down I will just load the factory bin and use as a regular FTA ird, and get a motor and use my 33" dish.
Hope this helps in your decision....

I got one with original 8PSK module of the 6000 IRD and the add on module. I added huge heat sinks on the main chips of the 8psk module in total I got 5 heat sinks on 8psk. I use with DPP 44 switch, got sat 110,119,129 and 148. Got all the HD channels from dish possible over 110HD channels in total. It is kind a nice to have the Mpeg4 channels and Mpeg2 channels as well. I use with dish 1000, dish 500. The receiver it self gets warm beacause of the two items added to SV HD 8000. Power supply has to work harder so it is producing enough heat inside the box plus the heat from heat sinks and heat from add on module. I have cover off and I got no issues with it what so ever. It is up and down like everyone else but it is very easy to update files. I also use MY BOOK WD external 500GB hard drive with PVR that I record the movies and programs to it. The SV HD 8000 is great HD receiver I would recomend to anyone. I had never before FTA receiver but I cought up with this stuff quicklly. The support for it is just funtastic. I am happy with it period. I can use for true FTA if I have to.
