Here's a recommendation to the staff here at DSSFTP. I'd like to see a 'member of the month' sticky thread, or something equal, to honor some of the unsung heroes at our site who have shown exemplary ethics and assistance to others. Too often these people go unnoticed and I'd like to see that change.
I'd like to see members themselves do the nominating.
Please review this thread. My nomination for the first recipient goes to SuperManny, for his outstanding Enigma tutorials, how-to's and personal one-on-one guidance.

I'd like to hear some feedback on this idea. Thank you, SuperManny, for making DSSFTP a better place for all. :)

I think it is a good idea as well. alot of members go out of their way to help and should be recognized. I won't do any nominating unless i feel someone is being greatly overlooked.

Twostep the experimenting that suppermanny is dong is just the thing this hobby needs more of. If you cant write code do the next best thing and use the tools that are available to you this kind of testing may even help coders discover the problem that is plaguing some testing methods. Suppermanny has shown that patients and persistance are all of our responsibility.

I would like to nominate Twostep for the Snaggs butt kiss in Milis' "this will get you banned" thread. With the majority here that doesn't care for 10x anymore you have assured yourself favor if they ever come out of the dirt.

I find it hard to organize such a vote. Any ideas? Indeed Twostep and SuperManny has been great. I myself stole some of SM's stuff when writing my Enigma how to.

I think it's a great idea. I don't know how we'll do the nominating exactly and be totally fair. The only thing I see wrong with it is that there will always be more than one contributor deserving of notice. Sometimes really good posters kind of slip by and don't get the recognition they deserve. There are also great coders that almost never post and you'll never know who they are. No matter how this idea plays out, we should all be better about letting folks know when they've helped us out. A simple thank you can go a long way.

What's this about mods don't get to nominate? Just kidding. I probably wouldn't have participated anyway; for the reasons I stated above. There's always more than one great contributor. There are at least a half dozen really good contributing members I really like. And at least another half dozen that help others that don't help me,so I don't notice them. It would be really hard for me to pick just one member deserving of recognition. Maybe an 'runner up' type catagory for those that were voted for a lot but didn't quite make it to #1 would be a good idea too.
