I currently have a Nexus S DVB S satelite video card that I have been running for a few months.
It is trick. There is no card, CAM, TSOP or reciever.
The Nexus card has an on card Mpeg decoder and TV outs so you don't need a high end PC or great video card. The Visionplus cards need higher end PCs as they depend on the PC cpu for mpeg decoding.
Using a P3 733, card cost about $350 Canadian. Use ProgDVB software with fenrir.
Currently watch Dish (110,119,65) and Bev (91) with no ECMs even picks up any key changes.
If any questions, just ask.

From one web page:
Noted exceptions:
DirecTV is not DVB compliant. They use the DSS standard, similar to videoguard used in Europe. Echostar and ExpressVu small dish services are DVB-compliant, so this means you can receive their signal from a DVB card, the ones that are not encrypted.

I just purchased the Nexus-S card but I need some serious help on how to setup PRODVB. Can you please help me?

when using vision plus pci card or any other DVB card. Which dish would you use a dish 500 with sw-21 switch and a directv dish or a dish pro dish. AND WITH DISH 500 do you replase the sw-21 with a DiseqC switch. I guess what I asking is what is the best set up from the card up.
