How do I clear the Scout

I have an rca 4th gen. I always get the scout that shows up teling me whats playing and on what chanel. But I never turned on the scout but it seems like I did, for every show thats playing on tv. Every five minutes I goto hit cancel on remote to cancel the scout. I tried to clear all the scout searches but it still shows up foe every show playing.

I hope someone can help me
