Hello...
Can anyone tell me if there is a pansat 2500A fix available or if there should be one coming. I looked in the downloads and didnt see it. I only ask because Ive had a few people tell me that because my receiver (2500a) is such a dinosaur I may stop getting fixes for it...so when I saw fixes for the others 2700 and 3500 and not the 2500A, thought I would ask the experts.
Thanks guys!

I read that they were gonna stop making fixes for the 2500 cause it's too old and doesn't have enough memory. But i don't know for sure if they stopped allready, my opinion is that you should upgrade your 2500 t0 2700

Thanks for the reply....not to sound like a total geek, but how do I do that? Is it something I can do myself or do I need a "receiver god" to do it. I am assuming you mean I can upgrade my current receiver.

Yes, you can do it! I've done it on several Fortec Lifetime Ultra's (also known as FLU's) using the serial port method. The FLU's are in fact clones of the Pansat 2500. It's a piece of cake. By uploading 2 software files to your existing box (Pansat 2500 or clone such as the FLU), this will turn it into a clone of the Pansat 2700 ... which is a more modern box which still has support for it.
For the ZIP file - see bottom of post for the link in my signature.

********* NOTE NOTE ********
Note : Your remote should work after this conversion (the Fortec Lifetime Ultra remote does work after conversion)
The conversion will erase your channel list....Optionally READ your Channel list with Channel MAster and leave it open in background, if you want to keep it.
1. Open/Run the Blacklist updater included, or the one you normally use to upload BIN's using the usual 'straight through' serial cable.
2. Make sure BIN is Selected NOT BOOT, you are writing a Bin!
3. Click select BIN
4. Choose j27_205_1.bin. Read next step carefully and understand before proceding (hand eye coordination involved).
5. Reboot reciever (Turn off switch in rear of receiver). When you turn rear switch back on, then immediately click write bin when (or even before) the first light/dash shows up in the reciever's display. let it write. If, and ONLY if, the file fails to start loading, repeat this step #5.
When it is done, Be PATIENT>>>BePATIENT>>>>>>>>>>>>BE PATIENT>>>!!!! let it reboot after 2 minutes you will see B-75 FlashING on display
6. NOW TO WRITE THE SECOND BIN....Click select BIN
7. Choose latest update bin for 2500 to 2700 Converted boxes such as the jvvh_217_pTd_GC.bin (note the jvvh_2##.... format; ## digits will increment with new updates). You can get them here . (http://bellexpress.vu/forum/local_links.php?catid=41)
8. Reboot reciever (Turn off switch in rear of receiver). When you turn rear switch back on, then immediately click write bin when (or even before) the first light/dash shows up in the reciever's display. Let it write. If, and ONLY if, the file fails to start loading, repeat this step #8. Let it reboot after 1 minute you will see B-75 Flash on display of reciever. Then eventually it will turn "ON".
9. You may have to do a blind satellite scan to get channels listed. Optionally, Rewrite your prior Channel list back, BUT, BIG BUT, you must now select the 2700 settings in Channel master.
10. Reconnect to Tv, select default key from parental options(key menu) let it autoroll (autoroll setting must be on). Watch TV :D
11. Wait for next round of new jvvh_2##... type update bins when they come out any moment. Anticipate next one will be something like jvvh_218...

NO !!!
Use the Bin specifically identified for Pansat 2500/FLU/Clone boxes converted to Pansat 2700's.
Choose latest update bin for 2500 to 2700 Converted boxes such as the jvvh_217_pTd_GC.bin (note the jvvh_2##.... format; ## digits will increment with new updates). The newest Bin fix is not available as of this writing, but will likely be called something similar to jvvh_218..... You can get latest Bins here when they become available. DSS RAY...Thank you so much for your help....I'm so close!! I think:) ...thought for a minute I'd made ya proud....but no cigar!! grrr...
I used the bins directly from your link. I got both bins loaded...waited as instructed and it turned to "ON" after both bin loads. Reconnected to TV, BUT when I hit menu...the PARENTAL CONTROL and CHANNEL EDIT choices are blacked out....the remote jumps right over them, so I am unable to set the default key...I only have the choices of:
INSTALLATION
USER SETUP
FACTORY SETTING
SYSTEM INFORMATION....
SO Im a a stand still on what to do next....
Any suggestions....ANYONE!!... Thanks so much guys....I'm really trying!
POST SCRIPT EDIT: I've re-read my instructions so many times I'm cross eyed, BUT I'm wondering if my mistake was made at the beginning. I notice the instructions talk about reading your channel list with Channel Master and leaving it open in the background... I'm not familiar with channel master??, so I guess I jump-ed this step..oops.... Would that cause the problem Im having of the parental control and channel edit options being blacked out.
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

You're welcome spiderwoman.
Just to check your conversion:
From Main Menu, Click on SYSTEM INFORMATION....
you should see something like the following for a successful conversion using the 2 files I linked to earlier ( j27_205_1.bin conversion file, and the jvvh_217.... bin update file) :
X-87BL
API:75-2.17_EUbX
Boot ver: 75
09. Oct 2007
... at least that's what you see on a successful conversion of FLU -> Pansat 2700clone.
Regarding your POST SCRIPT EDIT: question ".... Would that cause the problem Im having of the parental control and channel edit options being blacked out.
The use of Channel Master is optional (to reload your channel list/transponder and satellite configuration after the conversion), but not mandatory. Not using Channel Master might (?) be the cause of the parental control and channel edit options being blacked out. Possible reasons: No satellites or channels are in the receiver after the FLU/2500->Pansat 2700 clone conversion (it's kind of like a new box). So if you're not using Channel Master then (after the conversion instructions listed in prior post above) use your box's remote to go to the INSTALLATION menu and be sure to re-scan the satellites/channels/transponders for each satellite you're aimed at by doing a BLIND SCAN of that satellite. Blind scans take a while. (If listening to more than one
satellite, then make sure the DisEq switch / lnb settings are correct for each satellite you are aimed at before doing the BLIND SCAN).
I hope this helps.
Spiderwoman, please let us know how the BLIND SCAN of your satellite(s) went and whether you got viewable channels after.
NOTE: as of this writing, more and more channels are not visible (Black screen with "Bad Channel or Scrambled" message showing up) with the currently available jvvh_217.... bin update file. (we are waiting for the jvvh_218.... or similarly named bin update file to be released). You will see a signal quality level for these channels (even if blacked out picture) if your Blind Scan was successful.
At this time the jvvh_217.... bin file will still allow you to see BET, We, AMC, IFC, TCM,BBC,FOX news, MSNBC,CNN, HNN, Foreign channels, etc.
This should help you find out if you've done your conversion to Pansat 2700 clone, and the Blind Scan of satellite(s) successfully.

Thanks again! Yes that is the exact display.
When I tried to do a scan from the antenna set up it was listing channels for 119 and Nimiq 1 but nothing for 110, but then no TV when the scan was finished. It says "wait for picture" like when there's a key change? But after I attempted the scan, suddenlt the parental control and channel edit options were available again, so I was able to set the default key.
There does seem to be something funny with my settings as I am only seeing quality level for 119 and Nimiq 1 (which Im not pointed at), and no quality level for 110 which I am pointed at. Maybe the disc eq problem you mentioned. Ive never messed with those settings, I dont remember them, but I'll try to figure them out....maybe nimiq 1 is switched for 110,,, but again..why the "wait for picture" display...hmmmm
Thanks for all your help!

Spiderwoman,
Glad to hear: "the parental control ... available again, so .. was able to set the default key". Good. This will enable your receiver to do an Auto Roll. Could take upto 1000% or more to roll to current keys- be patient.
Make sure Auto Roll is ON using Parental Control -> Second PIN -> Autoroll Option...
.... that is if your reciever is actually listening to the satellite it thinks it is listening to. From what you wrote (" I am only seeing quality level for 119 and Nimiq 1 (which Im not pointed at), and no quality level for 110 which I am pointed at.") it looks like your receiver may be set to think it is listening to a satellite that is incorrect.
To better help you:
1.) What satellite(s) are you pointed to? Is it only 110, or some additional ones too?

Assuming your dish(es) are pointing to both 110, and 119...
Installation->Antenna Setup->
Activate tick box next to Echostar 110, and Echostar 119 on Satellite list located on Left Hand side of screen. Do this by pressing < or > button after scolling up or down to the satellite in question. Similaly turn off tick marks next to satellites your antennas are not pointing to.
Then scoll to Echostar 110 (on Left of Screen) for example, press OK, and select
LNB type: Standard
22kHz: OFF or ON (if in doubt try OFF)
DISEqC: #1
...
...
Satellite Scan: ALL
....then press Exit ... OK (to save).
-----------
Now scroll to Echostar 119 (on Left of Screen) for example, press OK, and select
LNB type: Standard
22kHz: OFF or ON (if in doubt try OFF)
DISEqC: #2
...
...
Satellite Scan: ALL
....then press Exit ... OK (to save).
---------
Don't worry about quality levels for now.
Then hit EXIT to get return to first INSTALLATION menu listing:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 110
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 110 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, until free of all menus.
-----------
Then press Menu->Installation->
to get to first INSTALLATION menu listing:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 119
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 119 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, until free of all menus.
-------
That should be it, other than a possible AUTOROLL (Let it wait past 1000% to roll - be patient)
PostScript: If you are only listening to 1 satellite such as Echostar 110, make sure that DISEqC is OFF:
LNB type: Standard
22kHz: OFF or ON (if in doubt try OFF)
DISEqC: OFF
...
...
Satellite Scan: ALL
Other than that the rest is similar, except you only need to blind scan 1 satellite ... in this example the Echostar 110.

Good luck and Tell us how you made out.

Thank you so much AGAIN for trying so hard to help me. I'm actually geting some programming on 119..not alot, but even a few PPV's, but no networks at all. last night I had a couple of channels pop on that said they were nimiq 1, which I dont understand at all. Nothing has changed with my antenna set up I have two dishes one pointing to Echo 8.6 and one to Echo 7....am I correct that they are 110 and 119. I think I recall that, but my pansat display used to say Echo 8.6 and echo 7..now says 110 and 119. This morning no Nimiq channels and still no 110 channels.
I will try the above instructions though and let ya know how it goes...but Im thrilled to have some TV. If I could get a few networks in adition to a few PPV's I'd be happy...thank you for getting me this far!

EchoStar 110 = D!SH Network on EchoStar 6,8. ( EchoStar 6,8 satellite is located at 110W orbital position)
EchoStar 119 = D!SH Network on EchoStar 7. ( EchoStar 7 is located at 119W orbital position)
Note 1:
N!MIQ series of satellites is the wrong ones for you Spiderwoman. N!MIQ is the canadian provider Be|| EXPRE55 Vu. I don't think your antennas are really aimed at N!M!Q satellites.
Note 2:
Since you say that you are getting some programming on Echo 119, I strongly suggest you check that you are really seeing this satellite. You should see both CNN (USA version not the international CNN), and HNN among your channels (these show a picture at this moment).
Then I strongly suggest that you do this verification by going MENU:
Installation->Antenna Setup->
...scroll down to highlight the Echostar 119 on the Satellite list located on Left Hand side of screen. Do this by pressing up or down buttons on remote to the satellite in question.
Now, write down what you see on Right HAND of screen for the following
LNB type: Standard (must be this)
22kHz: OFF or ON (write down what your are seeing for Echo 119 and keep it this way for both Echo 110 and Echo 119 in future steps)
DISEqC: # (write down whether you are seeing 1 or 2 for Echo 119 and keep it this way for Echo 119 only in future steps). I assumed in my instructions that DISEqC is likely #2 for Echo 119, and hence DISEqC is likely #1 for Echo 110. But it could be reversed depending on how the antenna cabling was plugged into the DISEqC switch. Note that if one satellite is DISEqC #2, the other should be #1 (and vice versa).
...
...
Satellite Scan: ALL (must be this)
....then press Exit ... exit...exit until you are out of all menus.
Spiderwoman, from what you've written, it seems as though your setup should be more or less along the lines of my prior post immediately above, namely both Echo 110( = Echo 6,8) and Echo119(=Echo 7). So do the following.
Suggested procedure after the above verifications are done:
Step 1. Use Channel Edit to erase all your present channels. Why? Because when you do another BLIND scan (in Step 2 below) prior scans including your existing incorrectly Labeled channels for N!M!Q will be remaining, and the new blind scans just add additional correctly setup channels/satellits. This leaves you with a lot of incorrect channels/satellite together with the correct ones from latest scan. So Best to ERASE ALL your channels from ALL satellites using the CHANNEL EDIT feature.
Step 2.
After step 1 above where you erased your existing (incorrect channels), do what I instructed in my prior post immediately above, namely (do what is below):
MENU->Installation->Antenna Setup->
Activate tick box next to Echostar 110, and Echostar 119 on Satellite list located on Left Hand side of screen. Do this by pressing < or > button after scolling up or down to the satellite in question. Similarly turn off tick marks next to satellites your antennas are not pointing to.

...

-----------
Now scroll to Echostar 119 (=Echo 7) on Left of Screen, press OK, and select
LNB type: Standard
22kHz: OFF or ON (if in doubt try OFF)
DISEqC: #2 (or #1 if Echo 119 was verified earlier to be #1)
...

....then press Exit ... OK (to save).
---------

Scroll down to second to last entry named

Select Echostar 110
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 110 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, ...until free of all menus.
-----------
Then press Menu->Installation->
to get to first INSTALLATION menu listing:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 119
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 119 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, until free of all menus.
-------
That should be it, other than a possible AUTOROLL (Let it wait past 1000% to roll - be patient).... but it looks like your box has already done this from what you've written.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS WORKED FOR YOU SPIDERWOMAN.
... At this time the existing jvvh_217.... bin file you installed earlier will still allow you to see BET, We, AMC, IFC, TCM,BBC,FOX news, MSNBC,CNN, HNN, some local ABC,CBS, NBC, FOX, etc. on the Echo 119 satellite; plus some more channelson the Echo 110 satellite.
...all the channels should comeback once the new fix is posted (hopefully soon). It will likely be named something similar to jvvh_218.... but as I said it is not yet released.

Im no expert by any means, but I did manage this part. Once it flashes B75 and turns on that means you have completed the convert bin. Then you turn the power off on the back again. Click on "select bin" and choose the new fix you want to load. You need to click on the "write bin" button at the absolute right time, so keep your mouse over the "write bin" button and when you turn the power back on, you'll want to click on the write bin" button AS SOON AS you see the green lights start to scroll across the screen.
Wow DSS RAY....I cant believe how much your helping me! Thanks so much... I will try the above instructions as soon as I get a chance and let ya know how it goes. I see from the above post it sounds like the 218 fix might be up..I'll check

ASIDE: Jvvh_218_pT_GC_(No_BG).bin is out and appears to work quite well for DN. I don't know if it works for other providers (it may not).
---------------
Using Channel Master Version 1.16.5 (Build Feb 20 2007) available at (sorry, I couldn't find it at Mili's file site):
hxxp://www.dsstester.com/recommend.php?file=2262
(replace the hxxp with http)
...Here is the procedure for Reading/Saving your Channel/Favorites list using the same serial cable you normally use to upload bin files to your receiver:
Before converting your box to a Pansat 2700 Clone : Recommend using Channel Master to read and save your channel/favorites list to help you avoid the hassle of doing a blind satellite scan afterwards. Permits you to re-load your channels/favorites list back into receiver afterwards.
Before loading a new jvvh_2##... bin update (such as the newly released "Jvvh_218_pT_GC_(No_BG).bin" over the prior "jvvh_217_pTd_GC.bin"): Recommend Using Channel Master to read and save your channel/favorites list before loading a new jvvh_2##... bin update to help you avoid having to do a Blind Scan of your satellites afterwards. That's right, loading bin updates (such as the newly released "Jvvh_218_pT_GC_(No_BG).bin" over the prior "jvvh_217_pTd_GC.bin" will wipe your channel list. Using channel master to save them before the bin update, permits you to re-load your channels/favorites list back into receiver afterwards... and avoid having to do a Blind Scan of your satellites .
BEFORE Conversion of your {Fortec Lifetime Ultra or Pansat 2500 or Clone} to a Pansat 2700 Clone:
Open Channel Master program. Note the abreviation STB refers to Set Top Box ( = your satellite receiver )
Make sure same serial cable you normally use to upload bin files to your receiver is connected to the reciever and your computer's serial post. Make sure receiver is ON and FULLY booted.
From top menu, click on ->File->New
From top menu, click on ->Tools-> Read from STB ....this will open a new window prompting you to Select Receiver.
For Set Top Box Type, pick your current receiver model from list, then click Next.
Settings - pick your cable's "Serial Port": (COM1 or COM2)
Pick - "Read as New Channel Master Project"
Click Next...Connect Wizzard will notify you that it is ready to read data from receiver as well as list the settings you made in the prior screens. If everything is correct,
Click Next ... it will download the channels (showing progress in % ).
After download is complete, your channel/favorites list data will showup on screen.
From top menu, click on ->File->Save as-> Channels1 (or change to name of your choice) . Click save.
Do the Conversion of your {Fortec Lifetime Ultra or Pansat 2500 or Clone} to a Pansat 2700 Clone, as I detailed in my prior posts above. However, Do NOT bother doing a Blind Scan of your Satellites after the conversion; it would be a wasted step if you are intending to use Channel Master to write a saved channel/Favorites list back to your receiver (it will overwrite the blind scan).
(Below Assumes you saved the channel/favorites list using Channel Master beforehand).
AFTER you are done Converting your {Fortec Lifetime Ultra or Pansat 2500 or Clone} to a Pansat 2700 Clone, and/or after your are done loading jvvh_2##... bin file updates, do the following:
Open Channel Master program. Note the abreviation STB refers to Set Top Box ( = your satellite receiver )
Make sure same serial cable you normally use to upload bin files to your receiver is connected to the reciever and your computer's serial post. Make sure receiver is ON and FULLY booted.
Skip this step If YOUR Channel/favorites list is already displayed in Channel Master,
otherwise From top menu,
click on ->File->Open... Channels1 (or whatever you named your channel/favorites list)
From top menu, click on ->Tools-> Write to STB ....this will open a new window prompting you to Select Receiver.
For Set Top Box Type, YOU MUST PICK: Pansat 2700, Pansat 3500s from the list (your box appears like Pansat 2700 Clone to Channel Master at this point),
then click Next.
Settings - pick your cable's "Serial Port": (COM1 or COM2)
Click Next...Connect Wizzard will notify you that it is ready, as well as list the settings you made in the prior screens. If settings are correct,
Click Next ... it will load the channels/favorited to your receiver (showing progress in % ).
After load is complete, your wait for your receiver to boot/turn on/ show a channel on display and TV.
You are done... your channels/favorite are back in the receiver. Turn off receiver to disconnect serial cable. Reboot receiver and watch TV.
NOTE: from now on the procedure for saving your Channels/Favorites from your receiver (before doing bin updates for example) is the same illustrated in Step 1, EXCEPT For Set Top Box Type, YOU MUST PICK: Pansat 2700, Pansat 3500s from the list (your converted box appears like Pansat 2700 Clone to Channel Master at this point).

Well DSS Ray you wont be proud of me anymore... I seemed to have goofed and now Im back to no TV grr.... I tried to load the new jvvh218 bin. When I reconnected again I didnt have access to parental control or channel edit. Instead of trying to go for the blind scan first, which now when I think about it is what worked last time...duh... I hit the default setting in the main menu. The machine rebooted by itself, and then when I went to blind scan it only offered sat45 to scan. So realizing I'd blown it, I disconnected and reloaded the bin....but the display is a little different ...now it is referring to Echo 7 (which I know from your note is 119) which I was receiving before, na di dont see Echo 8.6 or 110 choice at all. and I have no levels on anything, and when I blind scan Echo 7 119, it says no transponders found....I even tried reloading the jvvh 217 bin that was working and exact same thing no Echo 8.6 (110) at all and no channels found for Echo 7. I'm so mad at myself for buggering it up when I had TV....grrrr silly girl!

Spiderwoman: Don't despair.
I'm guessing you didn't have a chance to read my post Using Channel Master for Converted FLU/Pansat2500A -> Pansat 2700 clone above before you uploaded the newly released "Jvvh_218_pT_GC_(No_BG).bin" over the prior "jvvh_217_pTd_GC.bin". If you didn't use Channel Master, your channel list is gone and unsaved, so channel master is useless to you until you get a channel list back into your receiver via a blind scan. Not using Channel master prior to bin updates will wipe your channel list. Found this out when loading the jvvh218 bin over the jvvh217bin. Luckily I had saved my original channels/favorites/satellite list using Channel Master, so I could upload it back. Otherwise one would have to do a blind scan.
In reading your post again are you telling me you cannot do the following ?
MENU->Installation->Antenna Setup-> (or for Jvvh218 bin MENU->Dish Setup-> Antenna Setup-> )
Activate tick box next to Echostar 110, and Echostar 119 on Satellite list located on Left Hand side of screen. Do this by pressing < or > button after scolling up or down to the satellite in question. Similarly turn off tick marks next to satellites your antennas are not pointing to.
Spiderwoman (assuming you can do the above): In your case, I suggest that you print and read Posts #14, and #16 above detailing methods on how to setup your satellites/lnb/DISEqC#, and details of how to do a blind scan for each satellite your antennas are pointed to. Done correctly for each satellite your antennas are pointed to, the satellite setup and Blind scan will give you a channel list in your receiver, and watchable channels.
Once you get all your satellites and channels working again (ie: once you have a channel list again): Suggest you use Channel Master before doing any future jvvh_2## bin updates to save your channels/favorites/satellite list and avoid having to do a blind satellite scan afterwards. Channel Master instructions and file links were posted earlier today (see above under the heading "Using Channel Master for Converted FLU/Pansat2500A -> Pansat 2700 clone").
LET ME KNOW IF THE ABOVE HELPED.

tHANK YOU rAY...nO i DIDNT USE CHANNEL MASTER. iM NOT FAMILIAR WITH IT, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE i SKIPPED THAT STEP..OOPS. BUT, i DID TRY DOING A BLIND SCAN AND IT SAYS nO TRANSPONDERS. AND ITS CALLING THE CHANNELS ECHO 7 AGAIN AND I HAVE AN ECHO 8.10 (which loks like it may be echo 8.6) when I go to set up it show the positin as 110???
What Im concerned about is that Ive done something bad by hitting the DEFAULT SETTINGS IN THE MAIN MENU and not in the parental conTrol section. When I did that, the receiver shut itself down and rebooted and then my satelllites for me to tick off changed to echo 7 and 8.10 from 110 and 119, and I show no quality for anything now, and the blind scan yields no transponders....sooooo frustrated!!

Aside: I didn't think 219 bin was out yet. I assume you meant 218 . However, bin version doesn't matter with respect to your question.
With ALL bins, when you turn on your receiver's rear switch, IMMEDIATELY click write bin on your mouse (don't even wait for the first dash to blink on the receiver display). This has proven most effective to get the transfers going on any bins writes to Fortec Lifetime Ultra.
hoosierfan: Let me know if above works for you.
If still having trouble writing the bin to the receiver: Some have even suggested to click write bin on your mouse just BEFORE turning on your receiver's rear switch. I've not tried this, however (haven't had to ).

is the 218 bin really down! I see that manual keys are up again for provider 00 and 01. And when a new bin comes out ex 219 do I have to reload anything else before loading 219. May setup A FLU with converted bin 2500-2700 and 218 loaded onto it. Yesterday machine wouldn't go on with remeote and when I hit the switch on back machine flashed b 75. Then when I got on forum saw your post saying 218 out.
2- what is your imput on a better machine to buy one that would have more support. Is it still worthbuying a black viewsat extreme at 180$ or would I have to find a newer model.
Thanks for your help. It is a crazy hobby this, until dish takes a rest.
Note that turning on the reciever using the remote after it has been turned off for a while using the remote isn't reliable. Probably need to re-boot receiver using rear switch. The b 75 you see on the receiver display is the receiver booting up - which takes a while. Be patient and don't touch anything after turning on the rear switch... the b75 will stay there a while, the then turn to ON (and show EPG loading on screen - don't touch anything yet), then turn to a channel # on receiver display. At this point you should have a picture, and be ready to enjoy TV.
In case the above isn't what you get, try reloading the Jvvh_218... bin.
The Jvvh_218_pT_GC_(No_BG).bin gives full viewing experience - at least on DN . You don't need to mess with keys at this time. Can use the same bin loader that you've always used to load bins on the box before the conversion - using preconversion receiver name for the "receiver type" if your bin loader asks for it. Just make sure you use Channel Master before&after each bin update to save&restore your channel/favorites/satellite list to your receiver. See my post #22 in this (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73394) thread topic titled "Using Channel Master for Converted FLU/Pansat2500A -> Pansat 2700 clone" for file and how-to. Otherwise your channel and satellite configuration will be wiped, and you'll need to do a satellite setup & blind scan for each satellite your antennas are pointing to (absolutely no fun).
You can get Jvvh_218... bin here (http://bellexpress.vu/forum/local_links.php?catid=41)
or at all hours of day at:
hxxp://www.divshare.com/download/2515651-b4a
Just replace the xx with tt for the sake of live links.
When a new Jvvh_2##... bin update comes out, just load it; that's all the only bin you need to load. Just make sure you use Channel Master before&after each bin update to save&restore your channel/favorites/satellite list to your receiver. See my post #22 in this (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73394) thread topic titled "Using Channel Master for Converted FLU/Pansat2500A -> Pansat 2700 clone" for file and how-to.Otherwise your channel and satellite configuration will be wiped, and you'll need to do a satellite setup & blind scan for each satellite your antennas are pointing to (absolutely no fun).
I have no advice on other machines. Why spend more $ on new receiver when lots of life left in (Pansat2500/clones/Fortec Lifetime Ultra) boxes that have been converted into Pansat2700clone. No one knows when/if the provider will do something novel that will leave your $$ new box useless for anything other than pure FTA. That is nature of this hobby.

Spiderwoman: You now have no channel list, and no useful satellite/transponder list. Avoid clicking Default Setting on your receiver again.... For case such as yours, you need to get a useful channel/satellite/transponder into your receiver.
But first, Re-load the jvvh-218... update bin into your converted Pansat2500 receiver, in case you have installed an older version such as the 217 one. Use the 218 bin, (ie. the lastest available update bin) for the following steps
Now let's get started...(we're assuming antennas pointed to 110 and 119)
Download and unzip the the Channel Master zip archive file from
hxxp://www.dsstester.com/details.php?file=2262
Just replace the xx with tt for the sake of live links.
Now Install Channel Master on your PC.
Now Download 05-21-2007 SAIDias MegaMaster Pack.zip from
hxxp://www.dsstester.com/details.php?file=2639
Just replace the xx with tt for the sake of live links.
Then unzip the zip archive to extract the following DN channel list that you will use with Channel Master:
"05-21-2007 SAIDias MegaMaster ChannelList ALL DN.cmproj"
As is, the (05-21-2007 SAIDias MegaMaster ChannelList ALL DN) list is a bit dated, as some of the channels have moved to other transponders (don't show up as picture now), but most are still fine for your purpose: to get a satellite list for DN on your setup screen.
Open Channel Master program ( stbce.exe ) , close any advertising pop-ups, then click ->File->New->File->Open...
..now chose the "05-21-2007 SAIDias MegaMaster ChannelList ALL DN.cmproj" file name from the 05-21-2007 SAIDias MegaMaster Pack, and click open.
At this point a list of Echo* DN satellites and channels should displayed in Channel Master.
Now to upload this to your receiver, hook up your usual serial cable used for bin updates to receiver, turn receiver on from back switch and let it fully boot. Then from Channel Master Click ->Tools->Write to STB->select Set Top Box Type as: Pansat 2700A, Pansat3500s - click->Next->Pick your usual COM1 or COM2 port -click->Next-> on this screen verify and confirm settings-click->Next->
...Channel list will load into receiver showing a percentage on your reciever/and PC as it loads. Wait for it to fully load and save in receiver by looking at PC display. Wait for receiver to reboot fully. You propbably won't have a picture at this point yet. Exit Channel Master program, disconnect serial cable.
Now you have a DN satellite/channel/transponder list when you go to your receiver's ->MENU->Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) [hit OK]->Antenna Setup [hit OK]->
Now you should see a list of Echo* satellites on Left of your screen. Scroll up or down to highlight your desired 110 satellite then press > or < key on remote to activate a tick box next to the satellite you want. Do same thing for 119. Now make sure no other satellites have a tick box next to them ( use similar procedure to highlight non-desired satellites then press > or < key on remote to de-activate any tick box next to the satellites you don't have an antenna pointed to).
Now you can adjust the settings for the lnb's and DISEqC as we discussed earlier in this thread topic or as follows. I'm recopying it slighly modified below for convenience:
Scoll to highlight the tick-marked Echostar 110 (= Echo 6,8) on Left of Screen for example, press OK, and select
LNB type: Standard
22kHz: OFF or ON (if in doubt try OFF)
DISEqC: #1 (or #2 if Echo 119 below was verified earlier to be #1)
...
...
Satellite Scan: ALL
Don't worry about quality levels for now.
....then press Exit ... OK (to save).
-----------
Now scroll to highlight the tick-marked Echostar 119 (=Echo 7) on Left of Screen for example, press OK, and select
LNB type: Standard
22kHz: OFF or ON (if in doubt try OFF)
DISEqC: #2 (or #1 if Echo 119 was verified earlier to be #1)
...
...
Satellite Scan: ALL
Don't worry about quality levels for now.
....then press Exit ... OK (to save).
---------
Then hit EXIT to get return to first Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) menu listing where you will see:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 110
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 110 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, ...until free of all menus.
-----------
Then press Menu->Installation->
to get to first Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) menu listing:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 119
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 119 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, until free of all menus.
-------
Now you should have TV. Your freshly scanned channels from the satellite will have been added after the prior list from the SAIDias MegaMaster Pack you loaded earlier.
=================
OPTIONAL NEXT STEPS:
To get rid of the older SAIDias MegaMaster Pack channel listing (if you want to do that) you need to:
Step 1:
Use Receiver's Channel Edit to erase all channels on 110 and 119. Why? Because whenever you do a BLIND scan, you add to channels from prior scans and/or any channels uploaded using channel master such as the SAIDias list we used here. So can ERASE ALL your channels from ALL satellites using the CHANNEL EDIT feature.
Step 2.
After step 1 above where you erased your existing channel list (the satellite/transponder list should remain after a channel erase), you need to do another blind scan of your satellites, namely:
Press Menu->Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) ->
to get to first Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) menu listing:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 110
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 110 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, until free of all menus.
--------
Press Menu->Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) ->
to get to first Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) menu listing:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 119
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 119 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, until free of all menus.
That should be it, other than a possible AUTOROLL (Let it wait past 1000% to roll - be patient)...

Lizzardbug, quit being a lizzard. The conversion procedure works.
Old (unconverted) pansat 2500/clones/Fortec Lifetime ultra will not be supported anymore by BL nor Chansysand with new updates.
Only Only Pansat 2700 will get new bin updates. So need to do conversion to 2700 like clone if you have a Pansat 2500/clone/Fortec Lifetime ultra. After conversion use Jvvh_2## bins only for those converted boxes.

DN is morphing keys again, where 1 key digit is wrong on auto roll. This is affecting most receiver brands and types - not just the Pansat2500/clones/FLU converted into Pansat 2700 clones discussed here.
Update keys manually as needed using your remote control (whenever they roll), and Turn AutoRoll OFF. This will give TV again with jvvh_218...bin.
Keys are posted here (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71496) and elsewhere
A new bin update... probably named somthing like jvvh_219... is required for the autoroll to work again. Until it is released, use above manual method.

Before loading BIN: Save your channel/favorites list using Channel Master (easy: read all of step 3 in post here (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showpost.php?p=456798&postcount=22)) to avoid doing a blind scan after bin update. (The bin Jvvh_2## series bin updates will wipe your channel/favorites list, so use channel master)
See files section here for new Jvvh_219 bin: "Fortec/Pansat 2500 to 2700 New Bin" (dated 11-01-2007) (http://bellexpress.vu/forum/local_links.php?catid=41)
After loading bin Wait, wait patiently for receiver to fully boot (it'll get to ON after showing b-7-5 on display for a while). Again wait for reciever to get to ON.
After, loading bin with receiver showing ON, reload channels back to receiver with same cable using Channel Master (this avoids needing to do a blind scan.) No need to reboot prior to writing channels to receiver. After loading Wait, wait patiently for receiver to fully self boot after (it'll get to ON after showing b-7-5 on display for a while). Then it will show you a channel. Let it autoroll if necessary. You're done! :D
All the above is quick and easier than it sounds; just a couple of minutes of your time.
Warning to newbies: Don't use on unconverted Pansat2500/clones/Fortec Lifetime Ultra receiver's.
Read up on converting your box if haven't already done so. No new bins will be available for unconverted Pansat2500/clones/Fortec Lifetime Ultra receiver's, as BL isn't supporting the Pansat2500 anymore.

DSSRAY... I have downloaded the newest jvvh219 bin from your last post. I will load that bin into my receiver before following your instructions for getting channel master and SAIDias Mega Master pack.
BUT I'm having an impossible time fnding these files. I typed in the link, changing the xx's to tt's, but I cant seem to get to the files I'm looking for. I tried searching the dsstester site on my own. It lead me to utlities, but I couldnt find either of these files. Is it possible for you to email these files to me...not sure of the rules...is that allowed. My browser sometimes is a problem, it would not link me straight to either of the addresses you supplied me above. But I really tried to search the site for them myself. If you could send them to me, I'd really appreciate that!....sorry to be such a pain in.....

I don't do email. Too easy to get kryptonite this way.
The links work, but everyone needs to realize that all these sites are very busy with lemmings falling all over themselves trying to get new bin updates when they come out - like now.
That may be why you can't get to the website - it's overloaded. I couldn't get to them either. Don't wait for prime time to get your files!
Try again later, especially at off peak hours, usually 1am - 4pm for better luck. Superheroes don't sleep Spiderwoman - so don't tell me it's too late for you.:D
Just for you: Check your Private Message function for a direct <click on> type link to these files with an http instead of the hxxp.

-----------
Then press Menu->Installation->
to get to first Dish Setup (or INSTALLATION) menu listing:
Antenna Setup
Satellite Scan
TP Scan
...
...
Scroll down to second to last entry named
Blind Scan , and hit OK.
Select Echostar 119
( ...make sure Scan ALL is selected for Echostar 119 )
and press OK
....it will take a while to scan this satellite.
When done hit EXIT, EXIT, until free of all menus.
-------
Now you should have TV. Your freshly scanned channels from the satellite will have been added after the prior list from the SAIDias MegaMaster Pack you loaded earlier.
=================
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS WORKED FOR YOU SPIDERWOMAN.
DSSRAY...Thought I was getting close...but no cigar so far ! Ive downloaded the new jvvh 219 bin and then both programs above. I went into the Channel Master program and chose the "SAIDias MegaMaster Channel List ALL DN.cmproj" and followed the instructions to upload it into the receiver word for word. ( I should ensure Ive chosen the right one...there were three choices, but I did choos the one that had the.cmproj ending. Out of the three programs, one was a bin file, the other CSV file and the one I chose was described as a CMPROJ file. Now here's where it got a little tricky for me. It loaded, said it was complete, I clicked finish and the receiver went to B75 then to ON, then immediately to a "0100". When I chose which SAIDias file to upload, I specifically chose the one that had the ALL DN.cmproj ending as indicated, but there were two other choices...thats the only other thing I can think of that might have went wrong. When I reconnected the receiver there were ticks besides all the TP's I unchecked all but 110 and 119, but still no quality, no signal, and the blind scan still says no transponders found....grrr Can you think of anything I might be doing wrong still.
Also one other question, after I downloaded the channel master program, I got a pop up que for an update of the program, saying it was a more up to date version. Its "cmsetup1 18 03.zip (version 1.18 build October23) there is also a choice for the "cmsetup1 18 03.exe. Should I choose one of these files to download.
Thanks again....I will await your wisdom!

Dear Spiderwoman,
You are So close!
You loaded the correct channel list. Good ( the one that had the ALL DN.cmproj ending as indicated). The lists with the same name, but different ending (.bin and .csv) are just different save formats of the same thing. The " .cmproj " ending is a file format native for channel master and means channel master project.
It loaded, said it was complete, I clicked finish and the receiver went to B75 then to ON, then immediately to a "0100". Good thats a channel number! Your list loaded.
You got a satellite list on your Dish Setup (Installation) -> Antenna Setup Menu. - Good
You unchecked all but the desired 110 and 119 satellites - Good
You are so close!
In my experience, you don't always get quality level (don't recall for signal level) before a blind scan, even if all your LNB type and DISEqC #' settings are right. But, if you do - then it is reassuring.
At this point I' suspecting the Entries on the Right hand side of the screen for the satellite setup { Dish Setup (Installation) -> Antenna Setup Menu -> } 110 and 119 may not be correctly set to what is needed. I suspect the LNB setting and/or 22kHz and/or the DISEqC# aren't set to what is needed by your hardware&cabling setup. You don't remember what they were before - like when 119 was working - do you? (I don't expect you do, but just in case I thought I'd ask).
Don't worry, I'm confident we'll get you going very shortly.
Will need some more info - You can PM me following details in case you don't want to post them:
If possible, please tell me what you can about the antenna and LNB installation(for example: 1 oval dish with 2 LNB heads, or 2 Dishes with 1 LNb each). Are you using DN or B3V branded antennas/lnb/switch?
What are markings on the the so called switch (it looks a lot like a cable TV splitter, but is a more sophistated switch controlled by your receiver) that is located somewhere (often outside) between the 2 cables (1 from each LNB) coming from the antenna (these enter the switch), and the 1 cable exiting the switch and going to your receiver. Does the switch have DISEqC marked on it? If not - what is marked?
Please tell me more about what you have set for { Dish Setup (Installation) -> Antenna Setup Menu -> } (fill in settings)

Don't worry about more recent versions of Channel Master (you can load them if you like, and have time to spare) but they won't solve your problem any better than the one you have. Just close the popups and any nag screens for now.

No I didn't. Haven't examined that bin. I thought 2nd bin posting was just same bin posted again with a better description (the bin on milli's file site: b.llexpr.ss.vu). You know, so newbies could find it.
Check it out yourself. Does 2nd bin file posting have same date/time stamp as first jvvh_219... bin posted?

i installed the jvvh 220 bin. then chanel master, then scanned 110, 119 and 61.5, then did blind scan for all three, every channel avaliable great. started watching a channel on 61.5 channel 615 RTPi on echostar package, works great. When I wanted to switch to a 119 channel or 110 I was getting positional setting message then no signal.
Then if I do a reboot and switch to a ppv on 119 it works but if I go to the following channel a 110, I get a scrambled or no signal. What did I do wrong or is it just dish screwing with us.

I'm lost - Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong???
I'm trying to convert my Original 2500A into a 2700????
Part I:
I cycled pwr on the 2500,
before any lights came on,
Downloaded: x-87BL_070731_B75_205_api
using the: GTRom STB Updater Software
The download seemed to take ok, the 2500A was counting
right along with the download software (1-100).
After the download, I got the nightrider lights going
back and forth?
Part II:
I again, cycled pwr on the 2500 and now downloaded the
next file: Jvvh_219
The software started counting again 1-100
but this time, the receiver did not.
The receiver just continued displaying the night rider lights.
When the download reached 100 it said "Flash Burning"
Successful!
As per instructions, I waited and waited but never saw
B75 flash on the screen and unit never turned on?
Just the dashes going back and forth.
I turned the box off and on again... no changes..
Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Man..been searching sites for 2 days for a thread like this...very, very informative...Thanks spiderwoman & DSSRAY
Glad your finding the thread helpful...DSSRAY has guided me almost to the finish line...Its great if it gets someone else through. I have 110 working and Im close to getting 119 up....not sure if that one is a cabling or set up problem, but Im close..I think.
A few of the problems I was having were from my own errors (most of them actually), so I will share them in case anyone else is as challenged as me....fellow newbies. After I unplugged and plugged my receiver in a few times doing the 2500 -2700 conversion and then the most recent bin, I accidentally plugged the cable coming from my satellites into the disceq into the "antenna input" jack....WRONG! Got programming right away when I figured that one out. Also my disceq settings in my antenna setup screen were wrong...they seemed to change, and when I followed the cable I discovered 110 was switched for 119 on the disceq switch. You really have to keep checking every single setting and read every instruction with attention to small details, ie...waiting long enough for the b75 display and then the ON display to appear after loading bin and before turning receiver off...
Also, my biggest blunder was getting confused by the display on the main menu after I loaded the new bin. I went to set the default key, and instead of going into the CAS parental control menu, I used the default setting choice on the first main menu screen....OUCH!...Erased all my channels ...had to download a new channel list and set up the receiver settings from scratch.
AND If you're very lucky some more experienced member will take you under his wing:D All this trouble shooting was courtesy of DSSRay
Good luck to all !

Bongo,
I think you screwed up (potentially big time) in Part I when you loaded the file x-87BL_070731_B75_205_api into your Original Pansat 2500A. What awful chode (http://www.google.ca/search?q=chode) told you to load that file to do a conversion ??!!
As far as I can tell, this x-87BL_070731_B75_205_api bin file is made for Original Pansat 2700A ONLY and is NOT the file to convert your Original Pansat 2500A into a Pansat2700 like clone. It has no business going into your receiver. Also, it is NOT meant to be used even after a successful conversion of Pansat2500/clones/FortecLifetimeUltra receivers into a Pansat2700 like clone.
Now lets try to help you, by doing the conversion properly this time:Pray the following works; if it doesn't you'll have to JTAG your receiver back to life (back into an original Pansat2500a), and then try the conversion below again.
In this same thread, read ALL of my post # 5 (click here) (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showpost.php?p=455614&postcount=5). Print it out. Print the following out also for reference.
You will see that step 4 says: Choose j27_205_1.bin. That is the correct first bin to use for a successful conversion of {original Pansat2500/clones/FortecLifetimeUltra receivers} into a Pansat2700 like clone. See below, after my signature, for link where to get it.
Now since your channels are probably gone by now, there is likely no point in saving them before a conversion.
So follow ALL of my post # 5 mentioned above (for your case ...I suggest to modify step 5 slightly...When you turn receiver rear switch back on, immediately click write bin before the first light/dash even shows up in the reciever's display).
You won't be using channel master this time, and will use Jvvh_219 bin file in step 7 (latest bin update), which you already have.
Also in step 9 you will have to do a blind satellite scan to get channels listed (not channel master this time).
---That's it ---
For normal cases, I now recommend use of Channel Master whenever possible to save your channels list/satellite setup before doing the conversion, or a future bin update after the conversion. Afterwards, use Channel Master to load them back into your converted receiver. In this same thread, read ALL of my post #22 (click here) (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showpost.php?p=456798&postcount=22) for a for a complete Channel Master How-to guide and link to the program.
-------------------
-------------------As mentioned before: If the above Post #5 doesn't work for you, you'll have to JTAG your receiver back to life (back into an original Pansat2500a). If needed, start another thread titled: How do I JTAG Pansat2500a with night rider lights back to life? The dashes going back and forth on your receiver display are known as night rider lights. I have no experience in that yet, thank God.
Good luck Bongo and let us know my directions in Post # 5 worked for you.

I used the method of turning on the box, then click on download
before any display pops up..... It took the download, reboot
it self and box was back to normal before I did the damage...
No More NightRider :)
I took a match to that file I originally used and burned it to ashes!!!
Then I followed your instructions step-by-step and everything worked
like a charm.
As for the channel list, I was lucky to upload the list before I did my damage
and re-download it after the conversion...
as far as memory goes, I really don't see any difference in speed or anything..
Thanks a million,
Bongo

Hi there beefy1,
Your question is unrelated to the focus of this thread topic. This thread topic is to help people keep their [ Pansat 2500 / clones / Fortec Lifetime Ultra ] alive by helping them convert it into a Pansat 2700 like clone.
I now see that you did indeed start your own new thread for this new topic elsewhere at this forum. Thank you.
So please, help beefy1 by answering his questions at the following new thread: click here (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73752)

i'm starting to have problems again switching channels. ex i have 208 cnbc wich I view often but when I try a channel on 61.5 sat ex 615 RTPi. I get scrambled bad channel display yet if I hit signal I get 75% and 89% signal and quality. Is it beacuse of I turning off receiver to watch cable and over night keys don't roll or must I redo something. ANyone else getting scrambled channels?

In case you're wondering, note that as of Thursday Nov 8, 2007 the PPV and Adult channels are coming up as black screen due to yet another counter measure by DN. Some other channels are now blacking out too. This applies to all brands of FTA receivers - not just converted ones. Everyone's waiting for the 221 series of bin updates to be released and tested.
----
When you are viewing 2+ satellites, note that there is a minor bug in the existing 219 and 220 series bins. Occasionally, when one turns to a satellite you've not been watching for a while, that satellite's signal level will show zero for all channels on that satellite. For these kinds of strange things, or when in doubt, simply reboot receiver from rear switch... it will come back to normal once it boots
If you've turned off receiver from rear switch for prolonged time, receiver may need to roll in case DN rolled keys while it was off, so wait until it does this.
Check out a few channels after the reboot on either satellite and you'll see they are back and show a signal and quality level. (Of course the PPV, Adult, and some other channels that just went black as of Thursday will still be black)

Make sure any bin you load in future is specifically labeled as "for Pansat 2500/FLU's converted to 2700" or similarly identifies. Do NOT load bins designed for pansat 2700 or clones (these are not meant for converted boxes)

I saw this bin in the fortec section, but it doesnt start with jvvh so not sure if its the right fix for us. Not sure what it is for. It says 221 though and makes reference to being for converted boxes. This is what it says:
CS_221Tv2 serial BIN FLU & 2500 to 2700
THIS IS FOR PEOPLE THAT BEEN CONVERT TO 2700
Can anyone tell me if its the 221 fix we're waiting for or if there is one out yet...
Thanks guys!

Yes I was just wondering the same thing....the jvvh 222 file is a .rar file and it doesnt unzip like the others....I dont know how to use it. I never tried the CS221 bin because I wasnt sure if it had to say jvvh....I thought it did.
And Newvar is quoting a CS 223 file as the newest...where do we find that?
Thanks guys.....Hey DSSRay are you out there!! Us 2500 - 2700 :D conversion newbies need ya big guy!

I tried to load the CS 222 bin and it wouldnt load for me. The only ones I seem to be able to load start with jvvh. I am using the jvvh 221 bin right now..have limited tv...cant seem to load anything higher. Now I do see the 223 bin as below:
Chancysand's_223T_Lighting serial bin FLU & 2500 to 2700 after loading 223T serial bin and if you get waiting for keys need to reset key hit 8282 and set key default and then do scan, all is good
A/R on bev & D/N
Is anyone using this bin yet...Is it working and is it the correct bin for my Pansat 2500 which has been converted to a 2700. Any suggestions
Thanks guys!
Get CS_223T_Lightning_100t_Series. Works for me with 2500 to 2700 upgrade.

look in fortec download section
Load Chancysand CS_225T_Lightning_100t_Series_serial over any of the jvvh bins or CS_223Tor CS_224T serial bin, I used the 2500 to 2700serial Loader, with box off bin in loader, then turn box on and when it starts flashing hit write and ALL WAYS LET IT BOOT UP ALL THE WAY
but use what ever loader works for you
NOTE: AUTOROLL OFF AND STILL A/R KEYS IN
ALSO: SAVE YOUR CHANNLS BEFORE YOU LOAD ANY NEW BIN WITH CHANNEL MASTER & THEN LOAD TO STB AFTER YOU
AFTER YOU LOADED NEW BIN< USE PANSAT_2700 AS YOUR STB WITH CM
I tested the new CS_225T_Light bin with chancysand and he came through again Thanks Chancysand
NOTE: after loading 225T serial bin and if you get scramble hit 8282 on remote and do a set key default
A/R on bev & D/N
ALSO Thanks to Chancysand for the 225T FULL jTAG BIN for person can't load through serial

I notice in the above instructions it says to save channels with channel master efore loading the bin and ten to do somethig wit it afterwards as well. Can someone refresh me on what I should be doing when I load each new bin as far as channel master goes. I do have a version of it in my receiver, but Ivenever been really sure I did it rigt after I did the Pansat 2500 to 2700 conversion So now Im never sure what to do with it before and after I load the new bins...and my channels seem all over the place. They wont scroll properly. I have to punch specific channels in or the remote jumps over them.
Thanks guys

Saving and reloading your channel list saves you from having to rescan after each new bin. Save a channel list to your pc from your receiver then after you load a new bin use channel master again to write your channel list back to your receiver. Not sure about your channels allover the place issue. Are you using 'sat button|echostar or dish package to order your channels'?
