Yesterday's moprph was easily defeated across the board. New versions of FTA, plastic, emu, Enigma, USB Atmega256 and Atmega not to mention DVB, Arm and even business cards inserted should be working. This display of incompetence to come up with a decisive ECM by Echostar is the ridicule of the community.

1) This is a victory for coders perhaps, but not the average computer illiterate Joe.
2) They can always hurt you more and more.
3) Aren't there 206 cards that are on the way? They are supposed to be rough and tough and it is unlikely that they have been hacked/dumped/stripped yet.
I don't mean to rain on the parade. I am amazed by the strength and intelligence of the coders. It is just that I am told that there is another shoe to fall. I don't know when or where or how. I am just told it will fall in the shape of a 206 card, and that knowledge is humbling.
Now I don't intercept signal because it is illegal, ( I follow the forums becasue they are fascinating), but still the news is humbling.
My suggestion is live and enjoy the moment, but be humble.

im the average JOe, but I remmember a time when everyone paniced about N2 cards,
only time will tell,
maybe they will secure their signal, but i doubt it,

This is why I would put faith in the coders out there, I would beleive that the 206 card may present some problems, but i think it can be comprimised. THere is just too much money involved.
C and P (Sky Reports)
Worldwide Pay-TV Piracy Tops $1.5B
A new study of revenue losses throughout the regional pay-TV industry at the hands of signal piracy revealed some eye-opening results. Detailing subscription video service piracy throughout the past 12 months, the report said conservative estimates peg industry losses at more than $1.5 billion.
The study, conducted by the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) and Standard Chartered Bank, said the estimated loss of $1.54 billion is an increase over the $1.13 billion lost in 2006.
According to the survey, the China market remains uncharted territory for the annual estimates, but this year the newly developing pay-TV market in Pakistan has been added to the calculations, with losses that stand at $110 million. Estimates for Pakistan's unauthorized market show 4.6 million pirated cable-TV subscriptions in a market with some 345,000 legitimate subscriptions to pay-TV services. Excluding Pakistan, the regional figure stands at $1.43 billion, up $300 million - a 26 percent increase in lost revenues compared to 2006.
The cost of pay-TV piracy in Hong Kong for 2007 decreased by 15 percent to $27.4 million, although the number of hacked connections remained unchanged, the study said.
The study said a large part of the rise in total revenue losses for 2007 can be attributed to a $20 re-alignment against the Indian rupee. But, said Simon Twiston Davies, CASBAA CEO, "the India pay-TV market is the most distorted in Asia thanks to what can only be characterized as structurally-based revenue leakage."
According to CASBAA, India is a market with 73 million pay-TV connections, yet it suffers from heavy-handed government regulation which, in turn, has created a debilitating lack of investment in infrastructure. India's pay-TV revenue leakage reached $985 million in net losses in 2007, an increase of 44 year-over-year.
On the flip side, CASBAA said the most positive news to be taken from the survey is the dramatic fall in the number of illegal connections to pay-TV channels in Vietnam, where the value of industry losses has fallen from $38 million in 2006 to $10 million this year.

1) Why is everyone so cocky?Good point. Taunting charlie won't do anyone any good, it may just piss him off enough to bring out some big guns that we don't even know about yet. Look at the Enigma, he's about to put them out of business. It hasn't worked since charlie started using 10C, and if you think it's working for anybody, go take a look at their support forums.

But... But... If Enigma doesn't work, why is Mili saying it is?
(yea, I'm poking a little fun)
But seriously, it is getting a little annoying to see repeated posts from Mili talking about how great Enigma is, how it works with flawless autoroll, etc. I have a lot of respect for the dude and I've been around quite some time, but it really bothers me to see that plastered all over this respectable site.
I will say that I felt better after Mili made that post of the 10 or so things he tried on the Enigma that didn't work. He was being objective and the Mili I'm used to then.
I was around when hashhu released the hack, Hillbilly and Mili went at it over the stolen Magic Cards, etc. I've always stood behind Mili and looked to him as a reliable source of 'inside', honest, reliable, and unbiased information. I hope that doesn't change.

6.7 indeed freezing on some cards but not on all. I am told it is because of the crypto processor differed from cards to cards and Scherbius is working on the compatibility issue. Most cards do work though. By the way the USBAtmega256 cards rolled without an updated needed last night.

i think there are 2 differnt versions of enigma cards out there. the new ones work and the old ones dont. i got 2 of the first gen and they are unreliable until EE came out with the write verification and even then, it took about 5 times to get a clean write. with the current release of software, no luck and now i am back to romcode which is flawless.
i trust mili is not having any problems but he should tell us is he using old cards or newer ones. too bad Enigma did no put rev numbers on the boards to help with troubleshooting.
my 2 cents.
I was told there were 3 different versions. I don't think it was a smart thing to do at all.

mili All he needs is a dropdown box with Ver A, Ver B and Ver C. I'll gladly try all 3. Would be much faster than trying 50 combos with each new failed version. I've owned Enigmas since December and they worked reasonably well until last week. No luck since then. I think your statement that most are working is somewhat optimistic.
I agree on the 1 2 3 thing.

Honestly I think most of the problems stems from the tiers. When I program my enigmas I get a black screen. When I leave it overnight and reset the IRD the next day I have all the channels execpt PPV and PORN. Of course I have not used A teir generator yet just the EE tiers.

DISH 3900 running 6.7.
Freezing within 10 mins, reboot required to bring back up.
Tried 100MHz down to 68MHz with no luck. My card came about 5 months into Enigma's existance.
