Adding Phone cable to Jtag cable

I have Jtag that is connected to a six pin ribbion cable to use on top of my reciever as opposed to the button (using avr-x pins)

What i want to do is add a RJ45/Phone cable to my Jtag cable. I took a look in the housing and saw the wiring to the parrallel connector. I also seen diagrams and tutorials for the phone jack mod. They wiring looks the same.

Essiently what i want to do after i make the mod to the phone jack on my reciver is to have teh option of iether using the phone jack or the top mount to JTag my reciever.

Also should i be using a regular phone cable or RJ45 cable?

check the recever phone plug make shure it has 4 pins in it some only have 2 and will not work

really? that is weird, then why is there only guides for 6 wire phone jack and not 2 or 4?

Not shure check the plug and see i think there is only 4 if your lucky most iv seen only have 2........

there should eb a guide for a 4 i think i dont rember it has been so long sence i look i never tryed it because my recever ony had 2 hookups inside the plug.

I'll take a look .. i assumed it was 6 becuase the guid said it was six. thak sfor the heads up

Just look around there may be i always thought it was a 4 guide.....
not 6

look and see how many prongs are in there........ if only 2 mins and well forget it
