I'm considering purchasing a dish 6000 hd receiver and either use an enigma card or the usb atmega256. My question is about HD. Is the 6000 able to view all of the hd channels currently on dishnet? If so, does it rely on the 8psk or 8vsb modules?
Thanks

Many HD channels are now MPEG4, and soon maybe all will be.....the 6000 is MPEG2 only.
You need the 8PSK for Dish. The 8vsb is only for over the air channel reception.

Thats what I thought about the 6000. Are there any dishnet hd receivers that are testable and also support the mpeg4 hd channels?
Thanks for the fast reply!

I have been looking for 2 days for the answer to that question. I am glad someone finally ask it. Also throw in the question what hd receivers are able to be jtag?

They are all j-tagable but not much in hd. 6 and 1 ppv. The hd ppv does alternate new hd movies though which is cool. Their are some fta hd receivers that get mpeg4 though.

Guys. Forget about getting Dishnetwork HD channels on your 6000. You won't get much. Once Charlie went to MPEG-4 I gave up and converted my 6000 to BEV. BEV is still MPEG-2 and has alot of HD content. Yes, our canadian friends have great tv also. Has almost everything Dish Network has including East (Boston) and West(??) major networks in HD. (You won't get US locals.) It is ridiculously easy to convert to BEV and you simply have to point your dish to a different location to pick up the different birds. That's it. Get Wannabe's 6000 guide and your HDTV is soon a reality.

West (??) = West (Seattle)!
