Within jkeys, go into EEPROM programming (instead of TSOP programming) FIRST to set the trap (unplug/replug IRD). Once the trap is set, exit out of EEPROM programming and enter into TSOP programming. You sould see no errors now reading/writing to either TSOP. If you do, change the version of jkeys and repeat the above.

I'm at work, so I don't remember the latest version off the top of my head, but I think that it's 2.9.11, or something similar.

i have a 6000 been running since 2004. there is a prog called 6000 combiner that takes the two flashes and combines them so you can do it right check fileshop or maybe i can upload/send to you. i have not touched my 6000 since last year when i changed a few things.. hope it helps

I would look for wannabe's guide for the 6000. Excellent step by step to get your 6000 up and running. Very detailed.

Have you ever done a 6000 before ? You will never do flash 2 until you write a virgin eeprom to the receiver

Are you changing the address to 7FE00000 when you select Flash2 prior to erasing or programming in jkeys? It is set to 7FC00000 for Flash1.

C&P from wannna_be himself:

------------------------------------------
I have never myself needed BFL on any 6000.

go into eeprom programming 1st and if switching providers program a virgin eeprom with the correct build, if just changing numbers or firmware version all you have to do it enter eeprom programming and then exit.

The enter flash programming and erase one flash and then write the same flash with the tsop bin you want, then do the 2nd flash.

remember the different naming of jkeys and flashedit for U41 and U45. I can't stress it enough forget about flash1 and flash2 use U41 and U45 names.

read back your flashes and then compare them to the ones written. Use a hexeditor that can compare 2 bins, if there are differances between the U41 written and the one read back and the same for the U45 then it is a jtag issue.

6000's are picky make sure the eeprom matches the sticker exactly ending with a D all uppercase. The TSOPs should end in an A

example CDNA for tsops and CDND for eeprom also take note of the bootstrap builds.

Prob need to check if you have some kind of digital or regular TSOP lock on that perhaps ?

They flash only after a virgin eeprom is written as long as you remember the pinout is different when jtagging it, 2 pins are reversed remember ?

Two pins/pads are NOT reversed! Two pads are separated by a pad that never is connected to your jtag. See the picture of the 6000 jtag pattern that I have attached here:

Take off the cover and look for it on the main board! If you have a digital lock, you will see a toggle switch that is used to turn it on/off.

Yes. Mail it to someone who has done dozens of these things before, and let him/her do it for you.

both flashes should be 2mb, try getting new flashes from a tsop bank for your build and start over. could also get a virgin eeprom for your build there aswell.

also sounds like your doing flashes backwards, follow these instructions, straight from "Wannna_be 6000 Jtag Guide V3",

write virgin eeprom, go to flash programming, select U41 in drop down menu
and change address to 7FE00000 and erase flash a couple times, then select U45
change address to 7FC00000 and erase flash a couple times, now
select flash U41 in drop down menu change address to 7FE00000 and program flash select yes at pop up box and find your flash U41, now do other flash in drop
down menu select flash U45 change address to 7FC00000 hit program
select yes at pop up box and select your flash U45. Done.

Save the flash you are trying to write, before writing it. Even if you already did that in a previous step.
