Last night i saw the message new software is available.So could anybody tell me if it's safe to upgrade my b*v 3100 running private on st19?Thanks

The answer would be NO if running rom 102 with public keyset. Lots of reports on the various testing sites stating that you get a message like Charlie's Error 153 -- something to the tune of:
"Your card is about to expire. Tune to channel 263 for more info."
I don't know about emulation, though. In any event, I wouldn't take it. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Well, for the first time I just accepted the new update w/o checking with anyone b/c I assumed the IRD would eventually stop working anyway without it. So now I'm getting the "Attention : SmartCard about to expire message..." . Is there a way of eliminating this ? Otherwise, everything is OK. Thanks.

Well, for the first time I just accepted the new update w/o checking with anyone b/c I assumed the IRD would eventually stop working anyway without it. Yes. Until a fix is released, take the pr0n tiers off or your card. The nag will go away after doing this. Alternatively, re-jtag back to the older firmware and keep your pr0n. :p
