I have a 2700 with a subbed S01 card. I also have a 5800 that can not be activated. Can the S01 (from the 2700) be made to work with the 5800 using the 2700's info?

Since the S01 can't be read to extract the keys, I don't think the 5800 can be made to work with it. But you could try and transfer receiver number and boxkeys from the 2700 to the 5800 and see, I am doubtful, but it might.

Yep, I think the card will work changing the IRD# and BKs just like Skinerd said. Only catch is you will need to make sure the 508 has the SK`s removed from the TSOP so it will run the DT08 card from the 2700.

The 2700 and 5800 don't use SKs natively, so it just may work, I am not real sure it will, but just might. No harm in trying........

I have done exactly what you want to do with your 2700. My legit 2700 recv'r was on the fritz, so instead of buying another one, I transfered the bk and ird numbers to 5800 orignal firmware and let it stream update. It's been good for 2 years.

Thanks, just what I wanted to hear. Lucky me, this one needs to be vidmod. I found instructions on how to install the vidmod, but not how to do it. :(

Good news, Vidmod R44 method worked great. I used my info with FlashEdit 2.1 beta 9. I got a bin file and changed the number, programmed the receiver. Now the weird part. It has public numbers?

I jkeyed again, set at 501 it shows the correct numbers, set it on 508 it shows public numbers. Anyone know where I goofed?

Might be the way I done tsop in Flashedit. It shows 3 models

508
508 (moved bootstrap)
508 (moved irdinfo)

Anyone know which one to use for 5800?

Well to clone it to a 2700, and if it is already 508 moved bootstrap, that should be fine.
But if you want hard drive to work you need to be modifying a virgin flash to marry the drive. In which case a any setting that the virgin flash is at, should be ok.
Except, moved ird info, that has SKs which have to come out.
